Makuti Roof on The Beach

A room high up on stilts, under a traditional Makuti roof and right on Kendwa Beach in front of Zanzibar Parasailing Clubhouse with great views over the Kendwa bay. The beautiful sunset views are an added bonus! It is the one and only room which has such a unique view. It is an open air room with coconut wooden walls to protect your privacy. The front side is open which looks directly to the Indian Ocean and the amazing Kendwa Beach. It is certainly different to the norm. The stairs to the room are the only access. As part of the unique experience there is no door. The room is accessible 24 hrs. The room is part of a watersports centre which has a bar and kitchen facilities and has security at night. The room is accessed via a set of wooden stairs. The manager/owner and staff working at the centre are on the premises most of the time and ready to share their knowledge with you! This room is literally on the beach with the staircase ending on the beach sand. There is an in-house restaurant on the premises and several hotels and other local restaurants close by. The village with some local shops for basic necessities is close by behind the clubhouse. There is a parking lot which is a short walk (100m) to the room. Taxis, both by road and water, are also available close by. Please note that the room is above and in front of a Watersports & Diving Centre, which is active during the day, starting around 08:30am. The room is very close to the ocean where the local fishermen wake up early and start their day, not always quietly. There is a double bed, sofa, table and locker in the room. Other facilities are in the common area of the clubhouse. The bathroom is the communal facilities used by clients of the watersports centre (no hot water but this is tropical, so not essential, lol) and is situated towards the back of the clubhouse, away from the room. This is a unique place and experience and definitely not for everyone.
