Hillbank, 20 minutes by train to Edinburgh

This delightful lower flatted villa is located in the Royal Burgh of Inverkeithing. It is nestled on the side of a hill with views to the east out over the town to farmland, the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh. The accommodation is adjacent to a small woodland, which is home to a small family of deer! The comfortable house has a homely sitting room with open fire, well appointed kitchen/dining room, and three good sized bedrooms. It has a small enclosed garden. Whether you're looking for a cosy hideaway to spend time with your nearest and dearest or a base within easy reach of Edinburgh and southeast Scotland, we hope you will find our home welcoming and comfortable. The lower part of the house is entirely self contained with a private entrance. There is a small enclosed garden, which may not be animal/child escape proof! The dedicated guest parking is out of sight from the street with room for 2 cars. We live in the upstairs part of the house with our 3 boys (16,14 &13) and dog. At times they can be quite loud & lively! Guests should be aware of the potential for noise. This will be kept to a minimum, and during civilised hours only. Either myself or my partner Sam will be available at times during the day and evening. Inverkeithing is a small town near the famous Forth Rail Bridge, approximately 10 miles northwest of Edinburgh. There are local shops a short walk from Hillbank, and a good number of pubs and take away food establishments. The Fife coastal path runs through the town and offers cycling and walking options such as the Forth Road Bridge to historic South Queensferry and beautiful Aberdour with its lovely beaches 5 miles along the coast. Inverkeithing has excellent transport links with the M90 motorway nearby, local and long distance buses stopping in the High Street or close by, and a rail station 200m from Hillbank which has frequent trains to and from Edinburgh which take approximately 20 minutes, and services to the north. Trains operate until midnight. St Andrews is a 50 minute drive with its famous golf courses and other attractions. Gleneagles is 45 minutes by car from Hillbank. There is a dedicated bus service from the airport (JET 747) which stops at the rail station. Our house can be hard to find! Some Satnavs/GPS maps don't bring you to the correct location, therefore we have included detailed directions with photos on our listing.
