Groundfloor: 40 m2 living room with sitting area with bed-sofa, cable TV and WLan. Dining area for up to eight people. Open, well equipped kitchen. Toilet. Furnished patio with barbeque facilities. Large sunny balcony. 1 st floor: 1 Double bedroom, 1 bedroom with 5 beds. Toilet, shower. Basement: Washing machine, deep freezer, sledges, deck chairs, plenty of storage space. Full central heating. Everywhere, except the attic. I am reachable by mail or phone at any time. Gimmelwald is a car free mountain village with about 250 inhabitants living from agriculture and partly from tourism. You can buy bread, milk, butter, cheese directly from local farmers. Further shopping facilities you'll find in Mürren (Coop, bakery, butcher etc.). Gimmelwald lies on the border of the world famous UNESCO Natural Heritage of Jungfrau-Aletsch. It is therefore a starting point for the most wonderful hikes and adventures. Apart from that, Gimmelwald is part of a skiing area leading up to the highest skiregion of the Bernese Oberland, the famous Schilthorn (Piz Gloria) area. Skiing season starts at the end of November, ending in April. The shortest connection by public transport is Interlaken- Lauterbrunnen - Stechelberg-Gimmelwald. From Interlaken it takes you 20' by train to Lauterbrunnen and from there about 10' by postbus to Stechelberg. Gimmelwald is only accessible by cable car, From Stechelberg the ride takes 5 minutes. The cable car runs every 15 to 30 Minutes depending on passengers requests. The last cable car on weekdays runs at 23:45, on weekends at 00:55. There are paying car parks in Stechelberg and Lauterbrunnen. The chalet Max can only be reached by cable car (5') or by foot (1h).
