Room 1 in stone cottage in Bollington
This is one of two en-suite double rooms in a newly built extension to our home. The room has tea and coffee facilities and its own key. We have a separate breakfast room. Full English breakfast included ( veggie version available on request) Packed lunch available (extra charge) Great place for a relaxing break. Come and go as you please. Outside seating area where you can enjoy afternoon tea ( extra charge) please book day before. We live in a very quiet pleasant area on the edge of the village. We are in walking distance of several pubs and restaurants. The canal and the Middlewood way are easily accessible for traffic free walking or cycling. For the more adventurous the Gritstone trail passes through the surrounding countryside. The village is in a valley overlooked on one side by White Nancy, a local folly, said to have been built to commemorate the battle of Waterloo, and on the other side by Nab Head, from the top of which are spectacular views. There is off road parking and storage for bikes and motorbikes. You will have access to room through kitchen to own staircase. We are keen walkers and cyclists and can offer advice on the village and surrounding countryside if needed. We live in a very nice village surrounded by the Cheshire countryside, with several pubs and restaurants in walking distance of the cottage. Parking is available on the drive and there is a bus service into the nearest town, Macclesfield, where there are 3 museums showing the history of the silk town. There is also an excellent monthly market with locally made products. There is parking space for 2 cars on the drive, there is a regular bus from village into Macclesfield town, where there is also a train station. Pubs, restaurants and shops about 10 min walk. Many local walks from the door.
