In the dining hall you can read and dream on the window seats, relax in front of the inglenook fireplace, enjoy oak floorboards and latch doors, exposed beams, cob walls and dinner at rustic antique dining table. An additional wood-burning stove in the living room allows you to warm through and relax in the vintage leather armchair surrounded by fresh flowers, scented candles and beautiful contemporary artwork. The kitchen is a victorian addition to the cottage boasting stone flooring, settle and all the mod cons needed to knock up a feast. Up the cottagey stairs to the pretty bedrooms; large, light and luxuriously carpeted with views of the the church and water meadows. Both bedrooms have king-size, french style, cream iron beds, crisp white cotton bed linen with sumptuous duck down pillows and duvets. Both bedrooms have a chest of drawers, the larger has a button back chair, the smaller has a decorative cast iron fireplace and the spacious bathroom in-between boasts white fluffy towels, dressing gowns and toiletries. You have plenty of space to enjoy a peaceful lunch at the large garden table with benches in the enclosed cottage garden. 53 Durweston is ideal for 2 couples to socialise, a family to enjoy or a romantic couple looking for a private getaway. I am very happy to make recommendations of local places to visit, pubs and restaurants or you can snuggle down and enjoy everything the cottage has to offer. 53 Durweston is located in the Portman estate village of Durweston, opposite the church in the heart of Dorset. There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding areas and importantly, directly from your front door. Wonderful English pubs in the local area serve varied menus' and I would happily recommend my favourites. Or,day if you fancy a day on the beach, the magnificent Jurassic Coast is only a 30 minute drive away. There is plenty of parking either on the drive or outside the cottage. A car is advisable to be able to properly explore the area. The 2nd bathroom with shower and loo is in the annexe.
