Gîte Châtaigne, pool, near Lac Rouffiac, couples.

Gites de ROUFFIAGUET is great for couples to relax, set in the countryside. Sorry - no babies/children. Châtaigne on 1st floor, 1 bedroom, shower room, salon with kitchen and dining area. Terrace. Lanouaille village all amenities just 5 km, Ste Yrieix La Perche 12 km. Near Chateau Durantie for weddings. Next to Lac Rouffiac - water sports, beach, walk/cycle around. Near Chateaux of Jumilhac, Hautefort, Pompadour, Cussac Bonneval. Caves at Tourtoirac, many pretty towns and villages. Markets. Comfortable and clean in converted barn with the charm of stone walls and exposed beams. Views over the countryside from this upstairs apartment. Large living room with sofa, TV, dining area. Corner Kitchen: Oven with grill, gas hob, small fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster. Large bedroom, double bed, large wardrobe, shower room. We have a lovely big pool (summer) for you to relax or exercise in. Our grounds have Chestnut trees and many fruit trees. There are herbs in the garden which you can use for marinades or salad dressings. We have a recycling area for containers and bottles (please rinse them). You can walk to Lake Rouffiac which has a beach, water sports, summer restaurant. The lane ends in our carpark. Space for 3 cars and a motorbike. There is a games room with table tennis, darts, pentanque. Lovely grounds to walk around. Free use of washing machine at our house next door. There is an extra patio for the coal BBQ so the smoke doesn't disturb anyone. You need a car. We live on site so will be able to meet you when you arrive and be on hand if you have any questions. We leave you to enjoy your holiday but love to hear about your day, if you want to chat. I will need to water the plants around your patio in the dry weather. I speak French but not fluently. There are bakeries in the village of Lanouaille plus a cash machine, restaurant, pizza bar and small shop. July/Aug there is a restaurant at the lake Rouffiac. Many more restaurants in the town. The lake has water skiing and an acro park up in the trees plus a lovely beach. There are lots of picturesque villages and many interesting markets. We are ideally placed if you are attending a wedding at Chateau la Durantie, Lanouaille, just 4 miles. You need a car. Airports: We are 1 hour south of Limoges, 1 hour north of Brive, 1.45 from Bergerac, 2.30 ish from Bordeaux. There is a train station at Ste Yrieix but a taxi to here is 30€. Angoisse is just off the 704 but we are not in the village. Take the D80 sign posted to Lac Rouffiac and Payzac. After less than 1 mile turn right at the Rouffiaguet sign. The lane is a dead end to the car park. If GPS needs a number it is 134 Rouffiaguet, Angoisse 24270 Apart from large supermarkets, shops shut 12 - 14.00. The big supermarkets are open 9 - 12 on Sunday. In the week they close at 19.30. The French mainly eat at lunch time when a set menu is offered for about 13€ for 3 courses. There is a list of the nearest ones in the Gite and there are more in Ste Yrieix town. If you are eating in the evening, it is best to arrive well before 9 pm otherwise the chef may have gone home! The joys of rural life in France! The mobile signal varies depending on your provider and demand. Also the thick stone walls hinder receiving a signal in all areas of the gite. The accommodation is on the first floor. Please tread lightly on the wooden floors as noise can be heard in the gite below.
