Cryddion is a charming stone built cottage full of character and history for 2 persons, located in the picturesque coastal village of Llansteffan with a less than 5 minute walk to the village centre with its local store and 2 pubs. The cottage has a varied history and was the local Cobblers for many years. It retains its original features but also incorporates modern comforts. It has a small pebble garden to the front with a sitting area, the stream runs to the side and below. This unspoilt village on the Towy estuary has a castle, stunning coastal and estuary walks and views, beautiful unspoilt beaches, wildlife – it’s a real paradise for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Ancient woodlands at Green Castle Woods is carpeted with bluebells and wild garlic in spring and is definitely a treat. The historic county town of Carmarthen offers an array of amenities including a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants using local produce. A traditional indoor market, cinema, bowling alley, museum, leisure centre including swimming pool and shops and galleries selling local arts and crafts. The cottage is within an hour of the Gower peninsula and Brecon Beacons National Park to the east and an hour to the vast beaches and beauty spots of Pembrokeshire to the West. The Cottage comprises: Lounge/living area with table and chairs, 2 seater sofa settee with side table, table with TV. The area is heated via radiators and wood burner. Kitchen area with granite work surface sink and drainer, twin hob, combination microwave for oven and grilling, incorporated fridge, toaster and kettle, all required utensils. Bedroom has a King size bed, with side tables and lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers with mirror above, room is heated via a radiator. Bathroom has a 900mm quadrant shower, with non slip tray, tiled floor, toilet with mirrored cupboard above, basin with cupboard below and mirror above with strip light. Room is heated via underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Other information: Bed Linen and towels are included (NOT for beach use please) The outside bench has a lockable storage area which contains cushions for the bench, a small table (for the wine !) and 2 collapsing chairs and parasol. Guests should note whilst the living area is on one level there are 2 steps to the entrance and the inside has limited accessibility for wheelchair use. Fibre WiFi is available for guest use. Travel to Llansteffan is straight forward, via coach or train to Carmarthen and then bus to Llansteffan, bus stop is less than 1 minute walk from the cottage. 1 Parking space is available in the Chapel car park opposite. Access statement Pre Arrival The property is easily accessible by public transport, train or coach into Carmarthen then the local bus (227) from Carmarthen bus station to Llansteffan. The bus stop is less than a minutes walk to the cottage, this is predominantly on level pavement, access to the front door of the property is on a hard gravel surface. Mobile signal is generally OK dependant on service provider (landline can be made available on request) internet access is good. Grocery delivery service is available from Tesco in Carmarthen. Arrival and car parking Vehicle unloading can be done directly outside the front door, this is a level surface. The car can be parked in the Chapel car park directly opposite the cottage over the road, this is the first space on the right as you go into the car park. There is a gentle upward slope from the car park back to the property which is about 30 metres. There is an outside light which is operated via an automatic sensor. There are 2 steps up into the property, there is no handrail. Inside the property Lounge/Dining/Kitchen There is a slightly recessed mat area as you go through the wide front door, with light switch on the wall to the right, then onto hardwood level floor area. The lounge dining and kitchen area is one room which is fairly compact and is not suitable for wheelchair use. In the lounge area there is a small dining table with 4 chairs, a 2 seat sofa, which is fairly low down, a side table, a TV with remote on a table opposite the sofa and the wood burner is on the left as you come through the main entrance. The kitchen work surface is at standard height 900mm from floor level. There is a plate rack on the wall above the sink, tap is lever operated. The 2 ring halogen hob is recessed into the work surface. There is a combination microwave which serves as the oven and grill which is on the work surface. Fridge is built into the kitchen units. Toaster and cordless kettle are mounted on the work surface. All storage cupboards are at low level. Controls for the radiators are at low level. Bathroom The bathroom is off the lounge with the door opening on to yourself, the floor is tiled, there is a quadrant 900mm shower cubicle with non slip shower tray, double doors with a slight step. Removable grab rails for the shower can be provided if required. There is a mirrored cabinet above the toilet, the basin is set within a cupboard with storage below and illuminated mirror above. Light switches are at 1200mm above floor level just outside the bathroom. There is a heated towel rail adjacent to the basin. Tap is lever operated. Bedroom Entrance to the bedroom is from the living area, the door opens onto yourself with the light switch on your left. The bed is king size with 2 small tables either side of the bed with table lamps operated via rocker switches. There is 0.5m space either side of the bed. There is a full height wardrobe opposite the bed with a chest of drawers to the side and mirror above. All sockets are at low level. Outside There is a bench which seats 2, there is lockable storage below the bench which contains cushions, a small table and a parasol, this faces a small garden. The ground surface here is pebbles. The bench and garden area sits alongside the stream below, which is fenced/walled but not suitable for small children.
