Fantastic waterside house.
We hope you love our house as much as we do. Built in the 1700's it fronts the tidal river and has amazing views from every window. Beautiful wild cliffs and beaches are 8 minutes and are great for surfing. This amazing waterside house was built in the 1700's. It has river views from every room from where you can watch the boats and birds along the tidal water. There is an old wooden boat pontoon with an even older boat on top. Great for watching the sun go down. We have another mooring further out in the water as well. 8 minutes drive gets you to the best beaches ever, they go on for miles and also to the beautiful villages of Kingsand/Cawsand which have good food, great views over the water and really safe bathing. Millbrook is our local bustling village, good for all basic needs and a walk or drive around the river and lake. The house has a lovely mellow walled patio to the front and side and then steep steps up to the main gardens behind which are on several levels. Further back and you reach our half acre orchard, filled with bluebells in Spring. Great for picnics. The house? Well it has great heart and soul. Three double bedroom, all with huge beds. One is a 6ft King size and two are very romantic 5ft King sized velvet French beds. All have super comfy top quality mattresses and bedlinen. There is a lovely natural stone shower room and another bathroom, with vaulted ceiling polished plaster walls and views over the back lawns. This is a very romantic room for candles and relaxing. This bathroom can also be used en-suite to one bedroom if required. Downstairs has two entrances to the back and front of the house. Natural slate floor runs throughout the house and the sitting room is large and has a separate dining room area. There is a large stone fireplacewith plentiful wood in the sitting room and we'll soon have a cozy wood burning stove in the dining room end. It's toasty warm anyway, heated by new cast iron radiators. The kitchen has views in three directions and has everything you might possibly need to whip up a feast. Contemporary white units and wood work tops, big range gas cooker, large fridge, dishwasher and quirky bits. There is a separate utility room with a washer and separate dryer and a downstairs toilet. This house is eclectic. It's furnished for comfort and it is lit by low lights and quirky stuff. It's first and foremost our home.. Everything in it we want to use ourselves and we treat our guests the same way. The walks in the area are amazing and we have many grand old homes close by, many of which stage festivals (Port Elliot) and also Mount Edgcumb who's woods we back onto. Beaches are splendid and if you want the buzz of a city Plymouth is easily accessible via Torpoint car ferry (15 mins drive away), Cremyll foot ferry (a nice walk or a short drive away), or the Tamar Bridge, (25 mins away). This part of Cornwall known as the Rame is tagged Cornwall's Forgotten Corner. Once you've been here you won't forget it. Oh yes, we have TV/DVD/IPod/CD player, books, toys, magazines and so much more.... oh yes... we like dogs too. You have the entire run of the house and grounds. You will be given a key code to open the key safe when you arrive. There is a key safe by the door for entry. We have a local family who can help for immediate problems. They are friends of ours. Why do we love the area? It's simply great. It has the walks, the scenery, the beaches, the views, the quiet but the easily accessible towns and villages, the moors, the beautiful villages all within a short hop, the lack of tourist tat, the really friendly people, the sense of fun, the majesty of the sea and the beauty of the weather (whatever it throws at us!). The brilliant choice of things to do for all ages. There is a bus that will stop when you wave at it. This goes to the ferries and also further afield to Plymouth and Looe etc. Local train about 15 mins drive. Major trains at Plymouth and Exeter. Airport at Exeter. Continental ferries via Plymouth.
