A lovely cottage with a newly fitted kitchen, situated in the heart of the friendly ancient wool town of Chudleigh. There are two bedrooms - one with a King size bed, the other a Queen size. The kitchen and bathroom are both recently fully refurbished. There are two high quality Neff electric ovens, gas hob, 2 fridges and a freezer. There is a work space in the larger bedroom. The shops and pubs are a very short walk away. Gas central heating. The first time I ever walked into the property it just felt like home, and that is the same reaction which many others have had. The front room is the living room with soft seating and TV. There is a Chromecast attached to the TV so you can stream. It is this living room which can also double as the 5th person's bedroom. One of the sofas is a daybed which flattens into a single bed. Alternatively we can provide an inflatable mattress. There is a dining table and 6 chairs. The kitchen was recently refitted by the previous owner who is a kitchen fitter by trade. Everything is to a high standard and there is plenty of storage space: every single cupboard and drawer in the entire property is soft close! There are two electric Neff ovens, gas hob, fridge and fridge freezer, plus all the pots, pans, tins, sharp knives, cutlery, plates and glasses that you might need and full size dishwasher. There is a clothes washing machine in the downstairs WC. Upstairs there are the two bedrooms and a bathroom. The larger room has a King size bed and there is also a long work-space. There is plenty of hanging space as well as drawers. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and plenty of hanging and storage space as well as an illuminated mirror and space for beautification. The bathroom is newly refurbished and has a large bath with an electric shower over it. There are battery operated smoke as well as carbon monoxide detectors and the electrical wiring was updated in July 2019 to match the most recent requirements. All circuits throughout the property are individually RCD protected. There is free high speed WiFi which covers the whole property. All areas within the property are for your use. Booking the property makes the whole property private to you during your stay. Although there is a back door which leads to a courtyard, the courtyard belongs to the neighbouring property and therefore is not available for use. I'll meet you at the start of your stay to hand over keys, and show you around, but from that point I would not see you again unless you needed any assistance. I live in Chudleigh, so could be at the property very quickly. The property is within Old Tannery Mews which is a lovely little cul-de-sac - a bit of a hidden gem. Chudleigh is a small town and the locals are friendly. There is a surprising array of shops in the town centre which is less than 2 minutes walk away. The CoOp is one of the best in the whole area. The DIY shop is run by Andy who seems to have crammed an entire B&Q worth of goods into his shop. Do not try and find what you want though - just ask him and he'll either hand it straight to you or tell you how quickly he can have it in stock! The launderette is run by Alice. There are coin operated washers and dryers, but Alice is happy to provide service washes (wash, dry and fold a bag of dirties) as well as ironing. If you're staying at this property she'll give you a 10% discount off all her services. There are hair dressers, beauty and nail salons and a wellness centre. There are a couple of cafes, a pet shop, charity shops and other quirky shops you'd never find in larger towns and cities. The best pub is the Bishop Lacy. The restaurant and takeaway food is excellent. The landlord and head chef is Rob - he is a self confessed curry geek and makes them from the raw ingredients. People come to Chudleigh for these alone! The lovely landlady is called Wendy, although she prefers "Ma Bish". Ask her about the witches... There are two play parks and an outdoor pool within a short walking distance. If you want to stay a little longer, Chudleigh boasts 3 estate agents!! Chudleigh is located just off the A38: southbound for Plymouth, or Northbound for Exeter and it becomes the M5 at Exeter. There are regular busses to Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey, etc. We will provide a permit for 1 vehicle to park for free in the car park. Additional vehicles can park for £3.50 per day. There are many lovely country walks and you have easy access to the raw beauty of Dartmoor National Park There is no garden or outdoor space available for use. Dogs occasionally stay at the property. We clean thoroughly, but if you have pet allergies, please be aware of this.
