By the Beach Devonport
Cosy little hideaway surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. Separate access to room from street. A few steps from Cheltenham Beach. 5 minutes walk to local cafes. 20 minutes walk along the beach and waterfront to the village and ferry to the city. Within our home we have one lovely guest room to offer. French doors open onto a private little courtyard which also accesses the road and the beach. There is a table and chairs to enjoy breakfast in the sun after an early morning walk on the beach. There are no cooking facilities in the room but there is a small fridge as well as tea and coffee plunger facilities. Tea, coffee, milk, fresh fruit, and muesli and yogurt are provided for your breakfast. Beach chairs and towels are available for guest use. From the road there is a separate gate which brings you up a path directly to your room. There is a lock box on the wall outside your room which you are welcome to use. You may park in the driveway on the left hand side outside the garage. Outside your room is an area to sit at a table in the little courtyard Other lovely areas around the garden to explore as well. Across the road is Cheltenham Beach. We have travelled extensively and enjoy meeting people from other places. During the pandemic we have installed a lock box outside your room to enable you to have access to your space without having to interact with us. We have agreed to the covid rules for Air BnB operators which include social distancing but of course if there's anything you need we will be on the property to help. There is a folder in the room with all information you require and we will give you our cellphone numbers when you book. We live in a very quiet cul-de-sac with the beach almost at our doorstep. Our favourite cafe, Chateaubriandt, is a 5 minute walk away. A special thing to do is walk along the beach and up to North Head where there are beautiful views of Rangitoto, neighbouring islands, the harbour and the city. Everywhere around are lovely beaches and walks. The ferry to the city is a 20 minute walk away and you will find many fabulous restaurants close to the harbour. We have provided a list of good places to eat as we enjoy the atmosphere and food culture of the city as we do the little local places to eat in Devonport. There are also suggestions of walks and places to see locally. You can park in our driveway. There is a bus to the village and to the ferry to the city. This leaves around the corner from our house. There is also a bus to Takapuna which is another beachy suburb full of cool shops and restaurants and a beautiful beach. The bus takes about 15 minutes to Takapuna. But of course driving is easy too.
