Perfect location near Bath, Colerne has been featured in the Agatha Raisin series. The village is situated in the southern-most area of the Cotswolds. Our lovely, quiet little village is steeped in history dating back to the Doomsday Book. Our fully-equipped house is a 3-bedroom and 1.5 bath. We are a short drive into Bath or Castle Combe for a lovely day visit. Our lovely house on 2 floors has 3 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms have King (UK)-size beds (Queen (US)) while a third bedroom contains a twin/single bed. This detached house is 30 seconds walk from Colerne High Street and can sleep 4 to 5 people upstairs. Additional air mattresses are located in the conservatory. A fully-equipped kitchen on the ground floor with brand new tile flooring means you can stay in and cook if you don’t want to go out. You will also find a Lounge and Dining area with access to the rear conservatory and rear garden complete with patio chairs and table for an evening dinner outside. For the winter months, there is a gas fireplace for a cozy evening in. The entire Upstairs bathroom has been completely renovated for your enjoyment. Rainfall shower heads provide a lovely, invigorating experience. The whole house is solely for your enjoyment and privacy. We will leave you alone to enjoy your stay in peace and quiet but we will be available by phone if you need us. Colerne is one of those villages full of charm, tradition, and character. For centuries, this busy village was home to 15 shops and 4 pubs. Although Colerne is quieter in modern times, the charm of this lovely village remains. There are still many families original to the area in this quiet little village. Colerne is a village where you will be quickly welcomed. Buses depart frequently during the week to Bath and Chippenham. Taxis range from £15-20 GBP for the 15-minute journey to Bath or Chippenham. Rail stations are in both Bath and Chippenham. By car, you can access most surrounding landmarks such as Castle Combe (reputedly the most beautiful village in England), Lacock Village and Abbey (both of which are world heritage protected sites) where you can discover the origins of photography, Malmesbury Abbey and the oldest hotel in England, and Bath with all its splendor of Georgian wealth and history and Roman Spa and all within a 20 minute drive. There is parking for 3 cars on the drive outside the front of the house. Please do not park on the street. Radiator heat throughout the house. Inverters in both the Conservatory and upstairs landing provide both Heat and Air Conditioning. Due to allergies, we do not allow pets. Thank you for understanding.
