Time, our Elliot Houses haven, to savour minute by minute, day by day, is situated in a secluded valley in the heart of the Scottish Borders near Clovenfords. A charming, contemporary barn conversion with sumptuous interiors and stunning views. A 5-star self catering holiday home sleeping up to 10 adults. Follow the path of the river Tweed, then up hill and down dale – gorgeous – until you reach a hidden valley and the 2000 acre Elliot family farm. Here nestles Time - immaculately converted, with great wide views over an ancient Borders landscape of drystone walls and rolling hills, all of which can be admired from lounging in Time’s hot tub in its own private garden. The interior of Time is charming and stylish, with its double height sitting room housing a wood burning stove and a mezzanine snug for quiet moments. A separate spacious kitchen/dining room is beautifully equipped with wooden units and granite tops - a perfect spot for enjoying meals with friends and family. A ground floor super king size or twin bedroom with an adjoining wet room makes the house disabled friendly. All the bedrooms enjoy crisp white linens, memory foam mattresses, and soft Anta tartans and tweeds - a lap of luxury awaits. On the first floor you'll find a further 3 bedrooms, one en-suite and one bathroom. We look forward to welcoming you to our Elliot Houses portfolio where we strive to offer you a taste of luxury country living in the sumptuously furnished surroundings of converted barns and houses, offering boltholes in idyllic and unique settings. Time is a complete, spacious house with everything you may need. It has it's own garden, hot tub, coal fired barbecue, drive, car park space and view down the valley. Time is surrounded by 2000 acres of farmland. From mid April to mid May we have over 2000 ewes spread around the fields all lambing outside, it's a wonderful sight. We live 1/2 a mile away from Time. We try to pop down on the evening of your arrival to answer any questions you may have. If there are any issues during your stay we can normally get them sorted fairly quickly. We have to come down and check the chemicals in the hot tub. This normally happens early in the morning and we have been and gone before guests even notice! With 2000 acres of our own farmland to roam, everyone will be happy here and we welcome children of all ages as well as dogs. Blackhaugh is home to a pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle herd and a flock of Chevease ewes. With countless different walks and cycle rides in all directions, there are endless possibilities of things to do without even leaving the farm. It is a wildlife paradise providing a haven for deer, foxes, stoats, squirrels, kestrels, barn owls, pheasants, partridges and so much more. Guests are also welcome to try and catch a wild brown trout on the farm loch (unfortunately, due to essential loch maintenance guests will be unable to fish the loch during the 2022 fishing season). If you venture 2 miles further you can try to catch a salmon in the famed River Tweed. There are 9 golf courses within 15 miles of Dignity and Time, and we are only 7 miles from the world-renowned mountain biking centre of Glentress Forest, with its great choice of green, blue, red and black runs. Travel the Borders and discover a land with a turbulent and romantic history, punctuated by imposing castles, elegant abbeys, stately mansions and dramatic ruins, many of which are within a 30-minute drive. With the new Borders railway, Edinburgh is easily accessible from Dignity and Time. Stow train station is 6 miles away and from there it’s only a 40-minute train journey into the city centre. No matter where your day takes you, it’s a comforting thought to be able to return to comfy sofas and a wood burning stove in the evening, or you may even fancy a relaxing dip in the hot tub where you can enjoy the breath-taking view down the Caddon Valley. Train to Edinburgh: Stow train station is 5.5 miles away with free parking, although not all trains stop here Galashiels train station is 6.5 miles away, all trains stop here although there is a charge for parking. The nearest bus stop is in the village of Clovenfords. You can park in the village or, if you decide to walk, it is about a 20 minute walk. The bus is every hour during the day either going East to Galashiels or West to Peebles, and continuing onto many of the local towns or up to Edinburgh. Having a car is essential to giving you the best holiday experience at Dignity
