Charming Charante Farmhouse 30mins from Poitiers

Chanticlere is a cozy but spacious 170 year old semi rural farmhouse with views across open farmland. Set in half acre of grounds the house is full of charm and character where you will experience all that is required for a comfortable and memorable stay. You will experience exposed beams and stone walls in abundance. It has a well equipped kitchen/dining area, relaxing living room, two large double bedrooms, the master having a spacious modern en suite shower room and family bathroom. Relaxation for families and couples and for those looking to experience outdoor activities. The Charante region is centrally located to numerous attractions and plenty of places to visit including museums, aquaparks, zoo's, chateau's, national parks and quiant villages with small intimate coffee shops. There are large supermarkets (supermarche) located in both Couhe and Lezay and a small but well stocked convenience store in Rom, few minutes drive from house. Located within 45min of La Rochelle which hosts the most beautiful beaches, bars & Cafes. The farmhouse is located in historic Rom, with nearby towns such as Lezay, Couhe and larger towns such as Poitiers & Ruffec which are fantastic for shopping, dining and historical sites. There are plenty of festivals and exhibitions throughout the year being held in local towns and villages displaying the culture and great atmosphere of French life. Poitiers airport is approximately 35min drive from house offering affordable flights from UK and other European destinations. Alternatively Limoges airport is one hour away. Train service from ruffec offers high speed travel (approx 2hrs) to Paris centre and Disneyland. The guests are free to enjoy the half acre of outdoor garden. There is a beautiful patio area surrounding the house for outdoor cuisine and BBQ. There are outdoor games supplied. Guests Will have the freedom or the house and grounds. La coiraudiere is a small hamlet made up of six farmhouses surrounded by open farm land. We find the location to be both peaceful and tranquil with the most amazing sunsets and clear nights where you can see almost every constalation of stars . Good road access to neighbouring villages and 4km to N10 motorway. You will need a car to get around this region of France however there is good road access to all amenities. This area of France is Mecca for cyclists with flat winding roads. The tour de France travels through nearby village of Lezay. - The barns are not accessible for guests use. - No parking or driving on grass as there is a fosse system underground. There is ample parking on the shingle drive way for approximately four cars. - We can only accept one well behaved large dog or two small dogs. - Unfortunately we cannot accept cats. - The Range in the the kitchen is not for guest use. - No single sex group bookings.
