Bohemian Village Retreat with a View

Located in the mountain village of Molini di Triora, Casa del Canto has been lovingly restored and decorated and is now ready to welcome you for your stay in this beautiful part of Liguria. If you are looking for a tranquil, inspirational space, to feel connected to nature yet with the comfort of all village amenities on your doorstep, then we hope you will feel at home here! Traditional townhouse in some ways, unusual in others, the house has many of its original doors and windows, complete with their crackled blue paint and slightly out of shape frames! There is a beautiful loggia at the top of the house, with views of the village and the mountains... The perfect place to relax with a glass of wine or to enjoy as a creative space. We want you to feel at home and comfortable here, using the space as you wish, whilst respecting that as our home and as a very old building, it has its own little imperfections and quirks. The house has been restored to respect all original features, including arched ceilings and traditional floor tiles. A winding slate staircase leads all the way from the first bathroom on the bottom floor, to an open plan living/kitchen dining room, a study (this is a private room) and double bedroom on the second floor, a very large and spacious ensuite double on the next floor and a lovely open living room space with glass doors onto the loggia at the very top. Please bear in mind there are a lot of stairs. We hope that, like us, you will find it part of the charm! The space available is a very spacious ensuite double, with windows opening onto Via Grande below, with views of the bell tower and mountains in the background. This is the only room on this floor so it feels very private. The bathroom has a shower and there is a second bathroom with a shower on the bottom floor of the house. There is a second double room available as well, on the floor below. Please be aware that the bell is close to the house and it rings every hour... this is something you get used to and can be very helpful if (like me) you need a hand keeping track of time, but it's something to note for those with sensitive ears! We are very dog friendly and pets are more than welcome by prior arrangement. Please just let us know in advance. I will not be staying in the house during your stay, but will always be on hand to answer any questions or help should the need arise. Some of my personal items are kept at the house, and my two dogs do stay at the house when I am there. The house will be thoroughly cleaned before every stay, but please do bear this in mind in terms of allergies. Molini di Triora is nestled in the mountains of the Valle Argentina, Liguria. The village has bars, a restaurant, two shops, a cash point and post office. There is a very nice swimming spot a ten minute walk from the house and there is parking in the village. Please note you will need to walk to the house, it is a five-fifteen minute walk from parking, depending on where space is available. There are an abundance of amazing walks in the area, and hiking guides are based in the village so this can be arranged easily. The sea and coastal towns of Arma di Taggia and Riva Ligure are a 30 minute drive away, with the larger town of Sanremo around 45 minutes by car. Nice, and the international airport is a 1.5 hour drive by car.
