THE UNIQUE STORY, AS TOLD BY THE HOMEOWNER The house was used as a school for primary school classes between 1907 and 1965, and from 1907 onwards it was also used as a rectory and parish house for a hundred years. You can immerse yourself in a historical, magical and fairytale-like setting while enjoying all the comfort and modern facilities you need to enjoy a carefree and pleasant stay. As the rooms have different themes, a stay in this house is quite the experience. As the housekeeper is a verger, she can tell you everything about the church and the history and stories. The entire house exudes fantasy and history. The area where the house is situated is the area where the Brothers Grimm got their inspiration from to create their famous fairy tales. Also, the ancestors of Dutch Queen Emma are buried in the church that belongs to the rectory. Furthermore, did you know the rectory was used after the Second World War for refugee children from Sudetenland? It was also known as The Sudeten Class: they were expelled from their hometowns and accommodated elsewhere. A lot of these people ended up in the village and were educated here.
