Spacious Flat, 10 mins Walk to the Beach
A beautiful one bedroom apartment in a converted period property dating back to the Victorian era. As you step inside you're greeted with a lovely sense of light and space: find tall ceilings, exposed wooden floorboards and a grand sash window which frames calming views of surrounding greenery. The property retains a number of unique period features throughout, from the traditional rose ceiling to the cast iron fireplace. These are tastefully paired with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture. The large wooden dining table, overhanging lampshade, floating shelves, books, houseplants and vibrant artwork create a warm and homely atmosphere. The large corner sofa is the perfect place to flop after a long day on the beach or out walking the area's coastal paths, and there's a smart TV with apps for all your movie needs. The addition of a desk and Super-Fast Fibre broadband also makes it an ideal option if you want to visit Falmouth on a working holiday or business trip. Next door, the clean and well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook hearty meals as well as a dishwasher and washing machine. Off the living room you will find a large, bright bedroom with an original sash window, king-sized bed and colourful furnishings. The fitted wardrobe provides ample storage, and there's an en-suite with shower and bath to boot. What's more, this room enjoys sea views out over the bay! Together with a shared garden to enjoy, you're in a brilliant spot to explore the very best of Falmouth and beyond. Private parking is available for one small to medium sized vehicle. The spot is shared with one other flat and is available on a first come first serve basis for a fee of £4/day. Free parking is also available in the surrounding streets. Pets allowed with fee of £20/dog (max 2). The apartment is situated in an elegant Victorian house on a quiet leafy lane in Falmouth. A great feature of the property is the garden, officially shared with the 3 other residents, but rarely used. It provides a delightful sitting out space with mainly lawned areas stocked with flowering shrubs, plants plus a mature Magnolia Tree. Guests will have access to the whole house and communal garden. There is also a shared garage below the property which can be used for bike and surfboard storage. We will be available via call, text or email for the duration of your stay should you have any issues or queries. Tucked away in a quiet position, the property sits on Woodlane Crescent - one of Falmouth's most sought-after areas. Surrounded by trees, you'll feel immersed in a little oasis here but still within walking distance of the town centre, harbourside and beaches. The harbourside is around a five-minute walk, boasting ample seafood restaurants, pubs and bars. We'd recommend trying Five Degrees West and The Wheelhouse for excellent local beer and delicious, fresh food. The Star & Garter on the high street, around 15 mins walk, is also worth a visit for its award-winning menu. A little further, you will find the Falmouth Docks and within half an hour you can walk all the way to Pendennis Point - a must-see for epic views from the castle. The town is loved for its creative feel and maritime heritage. If you love food, the annual Oyster Festival in October is the perfect time to visit. The festival marks the start of the oyster dredging season and celebrates the very best Cornish seafood. A short drive from Falmouth, you'll find National Trust-owned Trelissick Gardens, with a woodland walk that’s free to enjoy and takes you right down to the banks of the River Fal. For a post-walk pint, we would recommend heading to The Pandora Inn (around 15 mins from the gardens). Its sea-front location makes it one of the prettiest places for a pint this side of the Tamar. If beaches are your thing, Falmouth has plenty to choose from. Both Gyllyngvase and Swanpool Beach offer excellent conditions for swimming and sunbathing, and if you're lucky you may even catch the odd wave. A walk around the headland to Hooked on the Rocks is well-worth it on a sunny day, and it's even better with a drink at sunset. Given the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. That said, Falmouth has very good transport links with trains running from London Paddington all the way into the town centre. Falmouth Town station is a 9 minute walk from the house, and from here you can hop on for one stop to the end of the line at Falmouth docks or to Penryn in the other direction - a quaint fishing village. Please note: Private parking is available for one small to medium sized vehicle. The spot is shared with one other flat and is available on a first come first serve basis for a fee of £4/day. Free parking is also available in the surrounding streets. Pets allowed with fee of £20/dog (max 2). There is a shared garage below the property which can be used for bike and surfboard storage.
