Valkenburg appartment Edelweiss - quiet - nature

Large appartment with modern bathroom (rainshower), new kitchen with fridge, gas stove and dish washer. It is situated at the quiet site of the famous Cauberg, on walking distance of the nice terrasses (heated), restaurants, caves, Thermal Centre 2000, Holland Casino and the chairlift. It is ideal situated for trips to develop the South of Limburg, Belgium and Germany. The appartment is situated on the ground floor of the building and equipped for 2 adults. There is a small stair (2 steps) at the entrance, the appartment is all on one level. The living room is large and has the authentic 'Mergel' stone which we have restaurated ourselves. It is a nice area to sit and eat. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge, gas stove, oven and dish washer. You can cook here and keep drinks cool. The batchroom is new and has a toilet, rainshower, sink and cabinet. There are towels, soap and shampoo available. The bedroom has a 180 x 200 cm bed (2 matrasses). The linnen is of very high quality (percal cotton) and has nice duvets. There is large cabinet for clothes. In front of the house is a small terrace where you can enjoy the late afternoon Sunshine with a cool drink. Central hall, own appartement, small terrace You can contact me on the Phone. I work as swim and ice skate instructor, so I am not Always available by Phone. My partner is well reachable. During the evening I am most of time at home, I live above the appartment. The cosy centre of Valkenburg is just a few minutes walking away. Go and have dinner at Meet@Valkenhof if you like spare ribs or at Brasserie America for a nice lunch or dinner (especially glutenfree - like my partner). If you like icecream or koffie with local 'vlaai' go to Botterweck. You can visit Valkenburg by walking around and visit the castle ruin, the caves of Mergel, Christmas markets, the Wilhelmina tower with the chairlift and many castles. You can rent a bike or scooter in the street (200 meters away). A nice walk from the appartment brings you to the nature reserve Ingendael, along the river the 'Geul', along castle St. Gerlach. You can see (with some luck) Galloway cows, bevers, wild pigs and the kingfisher. On 200 meters you will find the new area Par'Course with the Shimano Experience Center. Here you can test bikes, fishing gear and rowing gear. There is a large fish pont. The appartement is especially suitable for people who like nature, bikers and walkers. Several walking and bike routes are going through the street and we like to advise you on nice trips. Nice places to visit are Slenaken, Mechelen, Vijlen, Reserve Gerendal (with natural orchid garden), Keutenberg and Epen. Maastricht is situated on 10 minutes by car. You can visit the famous Vrijthof (large Square with terraces and restaurants. Also the Sint Pietersberg (caves, fort, terraces), the river Maas with nice boat trips and to visit the Andre Rieu concerts and the Tefaf art fair. In Landgraaf, approximately 15 minutes by car, you can go indoor skiing and snowboarding (365 days/year) in Snowworld or go luge or climbing in a large park. Visit the American Cemetary and Memoral of Margraten (15 min. by car) where over 8.000 American Liberators of WW2 are buried. Since the beginning we have adopte dgraves with our family and bring flowers to these graves on a regular basis. I also attended the visit of President Bush in 2015 (60 years of Liberation). The appartment is situated on 5 minutes of the highway A79 (Maastricht- Aachen). The railwaystation is on 10 minutes walking distance. With the car it takes 10 minutes to get into Maastricht (Andre Rieu), Heerlen/Kerkrade with e.g. Snowworld (indoor ski centre). With the train you have a direct connection with Maastricht, Heerlen and with an our you are Luik or Aachen. Towels and bed linnen available.
