The house may be divided into two independent wings giving flexibility. Outside school holidays smaller groups can rent just one wing. Watch a barn owl hunting at dusk as you enjoy supper on the veranda, play cricket or rounders on the grass, relax by the log stove in winter after a day visiting historic Osborne or Carisbrooke Castle or walking the coastal path. Visit nearby restaurants or buy local produce at a Farmer's market to cook at home. There is good access to public transport and secure bike storage. Wildlife: A great location for those keen to spot wildlife. Set in the peaceful West Wight, from the veranda it is possible to see barn owls and little owls hunting. Raptors such as kestrels, sparrow hawks and buzzards frequent the fields and may be seen daily from the house. Herons and egrets fly past; green and spotted woodpeckers breed in the trees on the land .....as do lapwings, pheasants, partridge and a myriad of common small birds. There is a good population of hares in the fields - and the occasional red squirrel.
