Pontoeste Surf School operating from the backyard! The guesthouse is a quiet and relaxing place, close to the beach (10km) and the river (walking distance). 18th Century building, full of history, well kept, comfortable, spacious and always clean. Our guests have access to the house facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, bathrooms, library, and laundry. Breakfast in the garden is included in the price. There are also free bikes available to explore the natural surroundings. We run the local Torreira surfschool, so you can rent surf and bodyboard gear, have a Stand up Paddle tour or learn how to surf with us. We believe hosting is also a way of travelling and we enjoy interacting with guests. We're active outdoor people and love to involve our guests in outdoor activities. It´s a small village, surrounded by water, green fields, and plenty of outdoor possibilities. There´s a great bakery close by, a couple of local "tascas" to share a beer and the flat land is great for using the bikes to move around. We are close to one of the nicest sand beaches of the country. If the Atlantik waves are too wild, there is always the possibility to hang out at the Ria's protected child-friendly beaches east of Torreira. 50km south from Porto and 30km from Aveiro, close by the traditional beachvillage Torreira. Coming from Porto or from Aveiro, we are easy to find: just 8 minutes away from Estarreja train station drive into the direction of Torreira beach. If you request in advance we will pick you up from the station. Taxi costs around 5 euros. Breakfast in the garden is included in the price. Pontoeste Surf, Bodyboard & Stand Up Paddle School operates from here so there are some great Summer outdoor & water activities available. We are also very close to one of the main kite surfing spots of Portugal, a professional kitesurfschool is closeby. The Bioria natural reserve is less than 5 minutes away and a great place for hiking, biking & birdwatching.
