Peaceful suite in artists' cottage in Devon woods

Private spacious double bedroom with bathroom & private sitting room with log burner in a Grade 2* listed thatched cottage set in seven acres of garden & woodland, surrounded by Devonshire countryside. Little Harford is a tranquil place for people wanting to find peace &quiet. A winding path in the Lower Woodland leads down to a meadow where you’ll find a meandering river. Surrounded by farmland, narrow lanes, tall hedgerows, and rolling hills, this is the perfect place to relax & unwind. You will have your own private spacious bedroom, with a double bed and a pullout single futon bed suitable for a child, or a trifold mattress which can be moved to the sitting room if required, a separate staircase, a recently renovated bathroom, and a private sitting-room with books, board games, DVDs, and a smart TV. Full of character, this rural retreat is a former artists’ home, so the house reflects their artistic interests. With original features and rustic quirky charm, there is a very efficient wood burner for cosy nights in by the fire. The garden has been created with areas to simply sit and look at the view, as well as a vegetable garden situated towards the upper woodland. You will have a toaster, kettle and fridge in the bedroom. Communal kitchen may be available on request. There are two pubs with good food and a village shop at the village just 1 1/2 miles away and the nearest town of Crediton is 3 miles away and has cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as supermarkets. We live communally with a tiny tabby cat called Lucy and some chickens. Occasionally we have a dog called Kizzy staying. We will provide you with breakfast provisions for your room. We will be available to show you around and give you a tour of the woodland, and advice on local walks and places to eat. We have a separate barn area that occasionally hosts dance groups, Lindy Hop classes and workshops that you can join upon request or hire the space separately. We also have a music studio which can be hired separately. There are two local pubs with good food at the nearest village of Tedburn St Mary which is 1 1/2 miles away and the nearby town of Crediton is just 3 miles away, with cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Exeter is 10 miles away. Dartmoor is a short drive away and beautiful Fingle Bridge just 20 minutes. The beaches of the south Devon coast are an easy drive away. There is plenty of parking on the property. Easily accessible by car to A30 and M5. Crediton has a train service to Exeter where there are frequent connecting trains to London, Cornwall and Bristol. There are bus services from Crediton and Tedburn St Mary to Exeter. Exeter 10 miles. Crediton 3 miles. Tedburn St Mary 1 ½ miles. Dartmoor is a 20 minute drive away and has plenty of scenic walks with spectacular views from Tors. The local area has lots of beautiful walks including Lilybrook and Blackalder Woods. We can also suggest favourite places to go. Although it feels remote here, shops, pubs and restaurants are just a short drive away.
