Purpose-built Holiday Retreat
COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS: • Contactless, keyless self-check-in • The property is cleaned thoroughly by professional cleaners after each guest departure • All bed linen and toweling is sent out to a commercial laundry Our Barossa holiday retreat 'The Acre' is a mere 2 minute drive (or 15 minute walk) from the town centre of the Barossa's quintessential heartbeat, Tanunda. Recently renovated from the ground up 'The Acre' is a purpose-built holiday retreat. We've taken every care to address all the creature comforts a weary traveller could have, for rest and relaxation... to get back out there and enjoy every last drop Australia's world-renowned wine region has to offer. The dwelling sits on an acre block of land, hence the name. As our guests, you will have exclusive access to the first quarter of the block, encapsulated by fencing which provides a compound around the house to allow both you, and our neighbours, each their own privacy. The house sleeps 6 guests across 3 bedrooms. The recent renovation has seen the interior of the house, and the backyard revitalised. The bathroom includes a free-standing bathtub and separate shower alcove with a rainmaker showerhead. Full laundry facilities are provided including a family-sized washing machine and separate dryer, with the option to hang clothes outside on a fold-down clothesline. An ironing board and iron are supplied. A separate room has been set up as a permanent study with desk, chair and widescreen monitor for those who require a dedicated workspace. High-speed NBN is provided wirelessly and reception reaches all areas of the compound. The lounge room, kitchen and dining are combined into a single open plan living space that opens to the alfresco entertainment area. The kitchen is fully equipped with all cutlery, crockery, glassware and cookware. A capsule coffee machine, kettle and toaster are provided in addition to the microwave, fan-forced oven and dishwasher. Technology in the living space includes a smart television with internet access and an active Netflix account. Attached to the television is a home theatre system with Bluetooth connectivity, making it simple for you to enjoy your personal choice of music. The covered alfresco entertainment area includes a 6 seater outdoor dining setting in addition to a chill-out space of 3 seater lounge and two armchairs. For those who want to lay on the ground and make grass angels while staring up at the sky, a generous lawned area is shaded by a beautiful weeping willow. Ample onsite parking is available. We are set to cater for young families also. If you require a high chair, cot or playpen please let us know prior to your arrival as these are kept in storage. The Barossa Valley is a stunning adventure waiting to happen, we hope our home will help you enjoy it as best you can. Our guests have access to the entire house and it's own enclosed and private backyard with outdoor entertaining area. We are sometimes onsite but are able to access the rear of the property via a separate driveway, however, we'll keep out of your way - it's likely you won't even know we're there. If you have questions or need assistance during your stay we're only a call or text message away. So close to the town centre yet far enough away for peace and quiet. Just a 2 minute stroll down the road is Discovery Parks Barossa Valley. The family section of the park includes a splashtacular waterpark, complete with three slides, gigantic tipping bucket and more splash zones than we can count. (day passes available for $15, family and group pricing available on request). And while the kids are playing in the water the folks can pop across the road to Barossa Valley Brewing. The brewery houses a Brasserie and stunning beer garden with live music from 4 - 7pm every Saturday and Sunday. These are just two of the many cafés, galleries, museums and within walking distance, and dotted around the main street of Tanunda. There is no convenient public transport between the towns and villages of the Barossa, however there are a few taxi providers available from 7am until late, which given the local culture, most certainly come in handy.
