Pippinfield View is a light and airy wooden lodge in a peaceful setting above the seaside town of Seaton, with stunning views across the Axe River and valley, just 2km to the beach. Perfectly located for exploring the East Devon Area of Natural Beauty, the Jurassic Coast and nearby towns; with bus/driving access to Exeter. There are 2 bedrooms, parking, outside seating/dining areas, access ramps and very efficient heating. In the summer change over is normally Tuesday to avoid Sat traffic. The cedar- clad bungalow, converted from a barn on an old apple farm with many of the original beams in place is ideal for families or couples looking for a peaceful get away. Open plan kitchen/living room with floor to ceiling glass doors, which open on to a wooden decking looking over the Axe Valley and down towards the sea. Wooden seating areas at the front and rear of the building with panoramic views that capture sun all day. From April to November you can enjoy the company of cows in the field just a few yards away (NB an electric fence separates the lawn from the field) Kitchen is stocked with basic equipment and appliances for everyday cooking. Please note that the bungalow is clean and tidy but that some of the furniture is pre-loved. The twin beds in the smaller bedroom will be pushed together, whilst those in the larger bedroom can be together or separated by a bedside table, depending on your preferences. There is a large cupboard in the main bedroom with shelves, hanging space and room to store suitcases. There are two toilets, one with an easy access shower, and further storage space. The bungalow has mains electric, gas and water but also uses reclaimed water and solar panels so is environmentally friendly. The heating system is very efficient! Note the bungalow shares a drive way/open area with the hosts and has an electric fence next to it which is switched on from March to November. Dogs; Please contact us before booking if you are considering bringing a dog. We generally prefer not allow to dogs but companion dogs, or one well behaved dog will be considered, at a cost of £30 to cover extra cleaning. Please ensure dogs don't go on any furniture and aren't left alone in the property. Please note that there are cows, pheasants, rabbits etc on the property and it is not enclosed. Access to whole lodge, and outside space surrounding it. Please note that this outside space is not enclosed and is shared with the hosts as part of the farm. The lodge is in close proximity to host's family home so someone will be available for help during your stay. We hope to be at home to welcome you on your arrival, but if we are unable to be here there is a lockbox for easy access - THE LOCKBOX CODE for your visit is 2018. Hosts have lived here for 12 years so have a knowledge of the area and are happy to help with queries/recommendations during your stay! Pippinfield View is situated on the hill above the seaside town of Seaton, making it the perfect location for those wishing to explore the Jurassic Coast, South West Coast Path, and the East Devon Area of Natural beauty, with a range of local walking routes. The property has direct access on to a bridleway that leads to the local nature reserve Holyford Woods. Seaton is a busy holiday destination with a mile long beach, picturesque harbour and river, plenty of cafes and pubs, a gym, electric tram, wetlands/bird sanctuary, tennis courts etc and an interactive Jurassic Centre perfect for families. 10min drive from Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ. A number of supermarkets and smaller shops are also in the town, with other facilities such as swimming pools and other tourist attractions eg. Donkey Sanctuary, Observatory and Pecorama in nearby towns. Host is happy to provide recommendations and directions. The bungalow is 2km (5 min drive/35min walk) from Seaton beach. Nearby towns and villages within 15min drive include Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Colyton, Beer, Branscombe and Axminster and there is also bus/driving access to the Roman city of Exeter. There is plenty of accessible parking on-site.
