Serene and peaceful place, full of history

Le Moulin de Farouille is an original water mill at the bank of the shallow and passable river Tardes, lying in a quiet and peaceful valley, surrounded by nature. Belonging to the property is the 17th century old milling building which gives the secluded courtyard a serene and authentic atmosphere. The whole courtyard and few buildings are for you to be used. The house is spacious and functional in its simplicity. The house is perfect for couples, families with kids and small groups. The house is a spacious (140m2) and functional, however not luxurious place. One bedroom with one classical French 180x110cm bed. One bedroom with two classical French 180x110cm beds. One bedroom with one classical French 185x110cm bed. One bedroom with a 140x190cm bed. The living room has an open fireplace which you can use, a desk, a television and a DVD player. The kitchen has a sink, a fridge, an electric oven and a washing machine. The dining area next to the kitchen is spacious and can seat 8 people. There are 2 toilets, one downstairs and one at the 1st floor. The bathroom at the 1st floor has a sink, a bathtub and allows stand-up showering in the bath. In front of the house, in the courtyard, you will find a coffee table + chairs and a simple diner table. In the garden you will find 2 reclining chairs. At the courtyard there is a cute teahouse with a bar. The area Creuse, department of Limousin, offers great hiking and biking opportunities and lets you enjoy its villages and excellent restaurants. You will be the only guests at these premises. You will have free access to most buildings around the secluded courtyard, except for the original milling buildings with the milling machines which can however be visited under guidance of the owner on request. You can also freely use the tea house with bar, the garden at the riverbank, park your car for free in the courtyard, and use the 2 bicycles, the table tennis table and the wood for the fire place, all to be found in the shed. Any question you may have during your stay will be answered by the owner himself (Martijn Bosschieter), reachable by phone. The departement Creuse, and specifically the area around the mill and near Chambon-sur-Voueize is a beautifully shaped rural and hilly area in which it is great to bike and make long walks. The quiet roads carry little and slow traffic and the scenery switches between meadows, woods rivers and small villages. In the living room of the house you will find a general map with several activities in the Creuse, and a special information map with beautiful walking routes around or in the neighbourhood of the Farouille mill. The nearby Chambon-sur-Voueize is a beautiful village is which you will find lovely restaurants, a bakery, a butchery and a super market. The nearest bus stop is located 10 km away in the village of Chambon-sur-Voueize. A bike trip from the house to Chambon-sur-Voueize will take between 20 and 40 minutes.From Chambon-sur-Voueize there is a bus connection to the large city of Montlucon. From Montlucon, there is a train connection to Paris. A car trip to Montlucon takes 25 minutes. The airport of Limousin can be reached in 1 hour 30 minutes by car. Calais is a good 6 hours drive away (660 km).
