Jasmine Art House - a walk from Mar Mikhael

I welcome you in a 1920's art deco freshly-renovated house after the Beirut explosion on the 4th of August 2020, few minutes walk from Mar Mikhael, yet away from its commotion, on a street with a curious mix of village and urban rhythm. I am an artist and an art gallerist and would love to share with you the cultural charming side of Lebanon. Plenty of light, art and peace awaits you. Above all things, art! I come from a family of art collectors, and I believe that next to people, art is the soul of the house. This house is a typical 1920's art deco house with a patriarchal interior architecture. A central living room with rooms on both sides. High ceiling, old tiles, a LOT of natural light... Sit on the street veranda and delightful gardens to enjoy the neighbourhood's tempo, or on the backdoor balcony to meditate privately. The furniture is a careful of mix of antiques and 1950's piece. An old Blüthner piano, books and an old working desk are at your disposal... as well as a fully equipped kitchen. A master bedroom with its bathroom and a comfortable living room... A private parking space is available for your convenience. I love mixing and matching furniture and decorating; for long-term stays I am flexible with the space and furniture layout. Everything is possible! The whole space is yours! Each room has its separate air conditioning. I am always a call away. I am happy to give you recommendations and advice during the check-in, or we can meet for coffee or a drink. Also, if you are looking for a driver/guide/mountaineer across Lebanon, my family and I would love to share our love for our country and its nature! I love mixing and matching furniture and decorating; for long-term stays I am flexible with the space and furniture layout. If a study room is required instead of the second bedroom for instance, it is possible! Beirut is a hilly city with lots of stairs, and a few minutes away you'll find the Vendôme or Geara stairs; long hip stairs with plenty of bars and cafes that will lead you to the middle of Mar Mikhael street. A five-minute walk tops. Rmeil is an old friendly residential area that used to be a shopping destination in the 70s. Today, everything is around! Traditional small shops, many supermarkets (some of the cheapest in Beirut), the best vegetable and fruit shop in the area, one of the first patisseries in the city, home cooked plat du jour restaurants, a bakery for breakfast man'ouche just across the street, and most importantly the best chicken and kafta sandwiches in Lebanon... You'll find a map of all that in the house. The house location is very central. Walk a few steps down the Vendôme stairs to arrive to Mar Mikhael's night life and restaurant district. Five minutes further, you'll get to Gemmayzeh and Sursock area where you can find plenty of art galleries and Sursock contemporary art museum. Continue for another 10 minutes, you'll reach the Downtown area where you can find the Ministry Saray, the Roman bath and the Grand Mosque. "Service" (cheap Lebanese taxi) is also a good option to get around Beirut. If you want to explore the rest of Lebanon, we can arrange long trips together; public transport in Lebanon is a bit chaotic, although it could be pleasant. Charles Helou bus station is a short 10-minute walk away, where you'll find 2$ busses to any destination. The wifi is fast ! And long stays are more than welcome.
