Surrounded by beautiful gums we have lots of lovely birds. We are on 8 acres of land in the Pryenees Shire heart of the wine region People love the real country charm experience and all the little details around the property. We re cycle, kitchen scraps go to the chickens, and the rubbish is sorted to rubbish and re cycle (glass separate) it would be greatly appreciated if you can leave your rubbish accordingly. When wandering around the farm, please shut the gates behind you. VALDARA HOME COOKING Valdara supplies a bottle of water, a selection of tea bags, instant coffee, long life milk, sugar, Salt / Pepper cooking oil. We also supply some artisan bread, organic free range eggs from our girls, butter and jam for you to prepare breakfast at your leisure If you would like a home cooked country evening meal please book 3 days in advance served with a bottle of local Shiraz $20 plus $30 per head for 2 course meal minimum 2 guests. Private drive way, you can park right up next to the Woolshed. The shed is approx. 50 metres from main house, allowing for privacy. Perfectly positioned just 2 hours from Melbourne CBD, half way between Ballarat & Ararat, 30 minutes from the world renowned Grampians in the heart of the Pyrenees Shire an emerging wine region. We are 5 minutes from Cave Hill Creek, and 10 minutes from Mt Cole and Beerimpo nature walks. Annual events in Beaufort - such as the Arts Festival early June, Rainbow Serpent Festival, January, the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally (May & November), every 2nd year is the Open Garden at Eurambeen Historic Homestead, and there are other food and wine events scattered through-out the year. Valdara offers you the opportunity to take a break from your daily city life, an chance to reset. Take a leisurely walk around the paddocks, meet the Valdara sheep family including Uncle Fonzie, the chooks, the wild ducks on the dam. Find a place to sit and draw, paint, write or meditate with wonderful views of Mt Cole. On a clear night the amazing sky is full of stars and the milky way is very clear. You will often see a falling star. Local tourism events and offering information is provided in the room. If you are coming to Beaufort / Raglan region for a wedding at one our great local venues – Cave hill Creek ( 5 minutes away) or Eurambeen Historic Homestead (10 minutes away) Valdara is perfectly situated. 10 minutes from Valdara is the renowned Mt Cole / Beerimpo State forest known for its beautiful vista’s, fascinating bush walks, amazing flora and fauna. Visitors to our region, also enjoying horse riding, mountain bike riding, bushwalking, bird watching. Fully self- contained woolshed – sleeps up to 6 adults (queen & 2 DOUBLES) - it is equipped with a pot belly fire to keep you warm in the winter (firewood is provided) , free standing fans will circulate the breeze during the summer months. We provide a mosquito net over the bed in case those pesty bugs are around and there is also mosie coils and bug repellent if needed. Remember we are in the country, so there might be moths, bugs and of course weather dependent there will be mud and dust. In the fridge we will leave a bottle of drinking water. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge, gas stove, pots, pans, dishware and glassware. Basic cooking ingredients – oil, salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, long life milk. There is a charcoal bbq on the deck (please check fire regulations). Beaufort has two wonderful country pubs - The Beaufort Hotel & The golden Age. Pyrenees Pantry has a great selection of home made pasties, salads and soups. IGA is the general store with all the essentials. 10kms from the farm is the town of Beaufort - a lovely country town, with a small local art gallery on the Railway Station, Beaufort lake is a must to see with the newly installed Koori Arts Trail, take a walk around and enjoy the local flora and fauna. The Rotunda. Twice a year there is the fantastic Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally and there are lots of events and weddings at wonderful properties like Cave Hill Creek, Mt Buangor, Lake Goldsmith, Lexton, Stawell, Avoca. Valdara is also close to well known wedding venues Cave hill Creek and Eurambeen historic Homestead. Beaufort Town Market operates on the 4th Saturday of every month from November to May.
