There are two large living rooms and another living room for the quiet reader. Children and families are most welcome at any time. We serve a rich continental breakfast in the period breakfast room or courtyard, as the case may be CHIARA (owner) is a local 47-year-old. Before embarking into this business Chiara worked with foreign students, managed a printing press and also produced a local television program. She loves The Burrow, which was her home and the home to her five children. Chiara has a passion for interior design and has designed every little detail in The Burrow. She has a love for languages and Maltese history. Chiara loves producing home made jams and tomato puree. Chiara is not very present in the guesthouse as she handles all the back office and guest correspondence. Chiara speaks English, Maltese, Italian and French. “In February 2018 The Burrow was closed for an entire month of extensive refurbishment. The Burrow now boasts 9 rooms all with private bathroom. Tarxien - The town of prehistoric temples and fertility statues Hal Tarxien is located in the southern part of Malta. It is quite a small town, with a population of around 7,800 inhabitants. The name of Tarxien is thought to have originated from the word “Tirix”, which means a large stone, similar to those that can be found in the Tarxien Neolithic Temples in the village. The motto of Tarxien is "Tyrii Genure Coloni" meaning "The Phoenicians created me". How To Reach Us By Taxi Airport taxis are available at arrivals. A one way transfer to The Burrow costs around €13 for a maximum of three passengers. By Public transport The cheapest way to reach us is by public transport with tickets costing as little as €2.00 ((URL HIDDEN) (Directions are shown on the map above in pink) Take the bus X2 or X3 direction Paola. Stop in Paola. Change to bus 81 or 82 direction Tarxien and stop on the bus stop ‘Neolitici’. (‘Neolitici’ is on Triq Santa Marija) Proceed on foot in the direction of the bus. Remain on Triq Santa Marija. You will notice small alleys on your left. These are marked Sqaq Nr.1, 2, 3, 4 etc. The Burrow is in Sqaq Nr 4. By Private Car If you wish to be chauffeur-driven we can book this for you. A transfer from the airport to The Burrow costs €20 and a driver would be waiting for you at arrivals with your name on a board. This service can also be booked for early departures.
