Holiday Apartment in Medieval Parsonage
A spacious, light, high-ceilinged self-contained 1 bedroom apartment in the Victorian wing of a stunning Medieval former parsonage with 1 acre garden in the centre of the Somerset village of Milverton, between Exmoor, the Quantocks, Brendon Hills and the M5. The apartment has its own separate entrance, double bedroom, living/dining room with woodburner, hallway, kitchen, shower room with underfloor heating, patio and outside table. This is a newly-converted space that was formerly the kitchen, boot room, scullery and workshop for the parsonage. Stone built in the 1880s it has stone mullioned leaded windows to match those of the main house. Its separate front door can be accessed directly by foot using a side gate, or by walking around the main house from the off-street parking at the front. The apartment has its own patio and lawn, giving out onto the main garden which guests are welcome to enjoy. You can access the whole apartment. We live in the main house adjacent to the apartment. There is an interconnecting door which will be kept locked for the duration of your stay. Milverton is a delightful, friendly picturesque village of Saxon origin, with many old houses. It has a beautiful 14th century church, an excellent shop open until 9pm every day and a gastro-pub. The bus runs past the bottom of our street every 2 hours to Taunton in one direction (8 miles) and via Wiveliscombe (3) miles to Dulverton in Exmoor in the other direction. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and several attractions such as Dunster village and castle, the West Somerset steam railway and Coleridge Cottage are within 30 minutes drive.
