The Oyster Cove bush Hideaways “A-Frame” sits on 20 acres of bushland, recently classified “Land for Wilderness” by the Tasmanian Land Conservation Trust. You will be sharing your space with the two other residences gently nestled amongst the Eucalypts, Wattles, and other native bushes. Pademelons, Possums, Rock Wallaby, Quolls, Boobook & Tawny Frogmouth Owls and array of other birdlife who will be your only regular visitors on your private deck at dusk and during the evening The A-Frame is an intimate, earthy cabin built from reclaimed natural timbers and dropped bush poles. Its unique shape is often referred to as something you would find in a fairy-tale (or Lord of the Rings) The perfect space for a single or a couple with a queen sized bed, bathroom and kitchen. Upstairs you will find the 80s themed mezzanine fully equipped with bean bags, board games, cassette player and of course a lava lamp. Its the perfect space to snuggle up and share a glass of red with your special someone. The deck is the best place to view our furry friends doing there nightly things. We've included spotlights and binoculars so all you need to do is perch yourself on the jack n Jill and stare at the stars. Just as beautiful in winter as in summer. It is fully equipped with electric heating however the wood fire warms the space beautifully and will have this set up and ready for you to light upon your arrival. Whilst we are only 35km away from Hobart we do live in a deep bush setting, with a long dirt windy road leading you here , thus the A Frame is in the Bush and not close to any main restaurants or cafes and Ubers are difficult to get here. You will find some sneaky cobwebs around the A Frame, as we don't spray to remove , and so is a natural part of living in the bush. The A-Frame sits next to our Main House, there is plenty of screening and blinds so you can fully relax in this private setting. Walking over our 20 acres is welcome there are lots of interesting things you might come across including the hugging tree's and the big abandoned bus in the bush. More information will be available in the A-Frame on your arrival. Please note we do have neighbours so don't venture to far. When you book please give us a little info about yourselves.. Who your arriving with, your estimated ETA or perhaps the special occasion your enjoying here. This helps us so much in our preparation. Amenities inc: Smart TV WIFI Cooking Equipment Bluetooth Speaker Books to read Board games We only have optus available on our hill. If you are with another provider you will lose reception at our gate Our WIFI is great so once you have checked in you will be able to log onto messenger etc to enable calls. OR if you are looking for a very special escape... turn your phone off. Whether your exploring the Channel or just need some time out from your busy life. The A-Frame is the perfect place to relax in a quiet environment and reconnect with nature. If you will be arriving after 6pm please let us know and we will ensure there is plenty of lighting for easy , safe access. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have any problems finding us . Please note check out is strictly 10 am and check in after 2pm unless discussed prior to your stay We appreciate your understanding with this We will not meet you on arrival or seek you out unless you request it. The exception to this being our two very friendly chocolate Labradors… Coco and Charli. They will be very happy to meet you on arrival, they are big dogs with a big bark but will genuinely just be happy to see you .Please send them on their way after a quick scratch behind the ear and don't feed them or let them in... you will never get rid of them ! There is so much to do in the Channel and the Bruny Island Ferry is only 15 minutes away. If you want some extra time to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the A-Frame and our 20 acre property we highly recommend staying more than 1 night. We love to eat out at the Cygnet Cannery , open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the Seawall Cafe on the waterfront at the Kettering Marina which is open every day for breakfast and lunch. The Steamhouse in Kettering makes a cracking coffee. Marcus a chef and Natalie a wedding Celebrant we offer in house elopements and small weddings.
