In the summer our place is available to rent starting on either Fridays or Mondays. So you can either stay for a three night weekend, or a four night midweek stay. Or a whole week. We built this room to enjoy the view. And now you can too. From inside or out on the balcony you look down the Yealm estuary towards the sunset. It is just a studio, but rest assured, it is like no other. Welcome to our room with a view. We built this room in 2015 to take full advantage of the view down the estuary of the River Yealm towards the sun setting in the West. If your idea of getting way involves a bit of fun, a splash of adventure and more than a hint of luxury then we think you may well be happy here. It is a simple 1 room studio with a wall of glass which folds back so you can step straight onto the deck overlooking the water or to the covered terrace at the side. When it is warm you can really open up the space to the outside. There is electric heating for when its colder. It has a wet room shower, basin and WC. But be warned you have to step out on the terrace to access it, so bring a dressing gown. Being a studio there isn't a full kitchen, just a kettle, a cooking ring, a slow cooker and a microwave. And you will have to step out again to do your washing up in the Belfast sink on the terrace. All this is in our lower garden between the lane and the estuary. We are one of the last houses in the village before the lane heads off through the woods to the sea, joining up with the South West Coastal Path. Keen walkers will not be disappointed. Gourmands may well want to wander back the other way into the village to dine at the renowned Ship Inn. Inside you will find we have minimised furnishings to allow deep cleans due to covid. Our cleaning regime is to alternate duvets and pillows so each new guest has a fresh, new set with clean protectors. Because of covid We are asking all guests to bring their own king size duvet covers , bedding, and towels . A dressing gown and slippers are also really useful at the property. Well behaved , respectful Dogs are welcome by arrangement. but try and keep them off the cushions….. we do ask a higher cleaning charge for those of you bringing dogs, please read all about in the house rules section. Thanks. The summerhouse is in our lower garden so you spill out onto the terrace (with a glazed pergola above so you can even when its raining) and on to the lawn next door. All of these have the same rather lovely view out across the water. And a barbecue too. We own the quay below if you want to launch your canoe or paddle board. We are very happy to help you get settled in and then leave you alone to just plain relax. But we can do more if you need it. Let us know. We have left you a barbecue so you can get all culinary. This year we have also provided a bigger fridge with freezer as self catering is the new normal. And should Devon get a bit wet, as it can, we can help dry soggy clothes overnight. Noss Mayo is quite a spot, a narrow estuary village, about as beautiful as any piece of England, make sure you spend 1 evening just sitting on the terrace as the sun goes down. You will go away with memories (and sand in the car footwells). Noss Mayo is actually not far from the A38 which most of you will no doubt be using. Plymouth isn't far and worth a visit for the Hoe and the Barbican. A must see too is the Prince William Yards. A former dockyard (think Greenwich-ish) now filled with apartments, shops and restaurants. And from here, a ferry to Cornwall. I am afraid we don't do airports or motorways but then that is part of the appeal of being here. It a great place to relax, or to explore, even to get adventurous. Totnes market is worth a visit on Friday. There are many fabulous foodie places too, the Chilli Farm, Sharpham vineyards, the Journeys End pub, the beach hut at South Milton, particularly at sunset and many more. We are the second last house in the village (it is a pale blue coloured cottage with a balcony on your left, the River Room is in the garden below) before the lane dives into the woods along the estuary heading out to the sea and the coastal path. So you have plenty of walking, cycling or rowing opportunities. Mind you, walk the other way and you will find the rest of Noss Mayo and the quite well regarded Ship Inn. Check it out online, but book early for dinner at the weekends it is very frequently fully booked. You could also try the Swan Inn on the other side of the valley, or, across in Newton Ferrers there is the Dolphin.
