The structure is located on a hill in the heart of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the gulf of Ascea and Casalvelino marina, the surrounding hills and the Torre di Velia. Not to be missed: 1. at the end of the long sand beach there is 'La Scogliera', a cliff with an interesting trekking route (1-2 hours) until the top (amazing view point); 2. behind the rocks there are 3 little nice beaches with very clear water reached by sea (boat service); 3. Archeological site of Velia (UNESCO World Heritage), Greek-Roman archaeological excavations (4 km far). Good starting point for excursions in the surroundings. In a southerly direction, at 10 km, the marvelous village of Pisciotta, at 20 km Capo Palinuro and the coves of Camerota, places reachable from Ascea along the suggestive coast road. In the North direction at 11 km Pioppi with its crystal clear waters and the Maritime Museum, home of the Mediterranean Diet, at 18 km Acciaroli with its charming touristic port. 30 km far from Paestum, an archaeological site of extreme importance. 100 km far from the famous Amalfi Coast. If you come by plane, from the international airport of Napoli you can reach the train station and take a train to Ascea station. Or you can rent a car. Bus service to / from Ascea station and to/from the seafront available on request with bus stop in front of the house. If you come by car trough the highway you can exit at Battipaglia and take the SS18 direction Agropoli-Vallo della Lucania. In about 1 hour you should see the exit 'Vallo Scalo'. Take it and follow direction for Ascea. Car parking is available in the structure. Chilly in summer, warmed by fireplace and gas/electric stoves.
