Romantic Home near Bellagio with Exquisite Views
Welcome to Casa Ferrari perched high above Lake Como, with the Grigne mountains providing a spectacular backdrop. Each morning the sun rises over these granite peaks warming the home, later painting the range in hues of rose and gold at dusk. From here you can stroll to the Madonna del Ghisallo chapel and museum, hike the trails of the San Primo mountain for extraordinary views of the lake, and visit charming Bellagio “the pearl of the lake” a picturesque 15 minute drive by car. Casa Ferrari is a corner penthouse apartment that enjoys a gated property entrance, reserved parking space and private entry. It is composed of two double bedrooms, one with balcony and each with queen beds, a bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen with granite table and balcony. The salon has a beamed ceiling, fireplace, two couches and armchair with double french doors leading to the very large terrace equipped with a beautiful dining table and chairs, two additional armchairs with coffee table and an electric barbecue. As you can see from the photos, the views from every window and especially the terrace are absolutely gorgeous. From the terrace enjoying the sunrise with a fresh cup of coffee, or a rose colored sunset with a glass of Prosecco and dinner alfresco, will enchant and mesmerize you. At night the lake transforms to a string of pearls shimmering in the moonlight. We know that you will love your time at Casa Ferrari. The entire apartment with private terrace and balcony. Access via gated entrance, secure grounds & reserved parking space. As the owners live overseas, you will be greeted by their co-host Ida who lives nearby. Magreglio is Ida's home town, so she is very knowledgeable about the area and can give great advice as to what there is to see and do nearby, and further afield. Ida speaks Italian and is fluent in English and French, and is a truly talented pastry chef. If there's anything you need - just ask Ida! Casa Ferrari is located near a typical quaint Italian village that has a couple of churches, a smattering of restaurants, a grocery & tobacco store, post-office and several walking paths that lead up into the surrounding forest and alpine landscape. It is a 2 minute walk from the famous Madonna del Ghisallo chapel and Museum of Cycling. Cycling enthusiasts from around the world make pilgrimages to this mystical holy site, honoring the sport of cycling. Above the town but less than 10 minutes by car is Monte San Primo with numerous hiking trails that lead to incredible views of the lake. There are a few mountain restaurants in the area serving local dishes in cozy surroundings, and one or two have spectacular views. In the same area is located the Jungle Raider Park, a family oriented outdoor adventure park. And 15 minutes away by car lies Bellagio, the "Pearl of the Lake" a lovely village located at the tip of the Larian Triangle. Numerous restaurants & cafes, elegant villas, fashionable boutiques, and churches adorn the beautiful and historic town. Casa Ferrari enjoys a conveniently central location from which to explore the lake Como region without having to navigate the congested lake front roads. The towns of Como and Lecco are both about 35 minutes away. Although it is probably best to have a car in our area, there is bus service to Bellagio and also to Canzo, both are about 15 minutes away by car or bus. From Bellagio, numerous ferry boats visit many of the villages and towns around Lake Como. From Canzo you can take the train to downtown Milano. Both of Milano's airports are about 1 hour 15 minutes by car, as is Milano itself. Please read our late arrival policy stated under "Policies & House Rules" towards the bottom of this page. Please note that the kitchen is well equipped, but does NOT include a dishwasher. The refrigerator/freezer is small but adequate. The bathroom is newly remodeled.
