Renovated family house & parking in central Bruton
A newly renovated family house in the heart of this charming & historic town. Guests have full use of the kitchen/diner; reception room with log burner, plus two good sized bedrooms upstairs (a king & twin) adjacent to the new family sized bathroom. There's a sunny south facing garden with BBQ & outdoor fire bowl. Walkable to the train station; shops, pubs & restaurants & off street parking for two cars all make this a comfortable & convenient base for you to explore this fabulous destination! This beautiful period property has been fully renovated over the last few months so everything is in good working order, from the full-sized sunny kitchen and adjoining south facing breakfast room with views over the south terraced patios and lawn towards the famous Dovecote landmark; to the cosy log-burner (basket of logs provided) in the period Reception room, and the full family upstairs bathroom with full bath. There are two good sized bedrooms for your use-one with a king bed and one with two singles (which can be put together as a King if desired). Outside is a stunning suntrap with southerly open views over to the iconic Dovecote and church tower. Nearest the house there is the an outdoor kitchen with sink and BBQ and large table and chairs with a sun parasol. Beyond there is the terraced and partly grassed south facing garden where you can lie in the shade of the apple tree, have a rock in the hammock, and keep warm on cool eves sitting around the outdoor firepit (and melt marshmallows!) Access to downstairs with Reception room; full kitchen; breakfast room and upstairs two double sized bedrooms (one king and one twin) and full family bathroom. Note: one room is locked off and out of bounds. I can be on hand locally to assist you with my local knowledge, recommendations, bookings and anything else you might need. Bruton is rightly a very popular destination with its wealth of historic, cultural and culinary delights to explore both right on the doorstep as well as further afield to Salisbury, Bath, Wells and The Mendips beyond. Conveniently close to the A303 it's the perfect destination to spend a few days, long weekend or even longer...from the house you can walk in the countryside, indulge in the best food at the two local pubs, The Chapel plus the newly awarded Michelin star for Osip and 'Roth Bar and Grill' restaurants as well as exploring 'Hauser and Wirth'. Only a short drive away you have the estates at Stourhead, Longleat and The Newt and also the towns of Frome, Salisbury, Glastonbury, Bath and Wells to summon you further afield. There is private off street parking on the driveway for 2 cars, the train station is about 10 minutes walk away and I can book local taxi services for you if required too (note advance booking required-it's a small town!) The outdoor fire pit and BBQ is on the top terrace and can both be used in addition to the indoor log burner. The garden is terraced and so there are some steps but there are railings in place between the terraces-if in doubt check with me about suitability for young or infirm guests. Longer term rentals of more than 1 month can be considered-please do get in touch.
