Vecchio Frantoio
Vecchio Frantoio, Gaiole in Chianti, Siena and Chianti
Vecchio Frantoio is a beautifully restored two-storey stone-built villa in the hamlet of Casanuova di Ama, surrounded by vineyards and olivetrees, near Lecchi in Chianti. You'll find the property has been lovingly restored to a luxurious standard from the ruins of an olive press. With a small cottage also included in the grounds, this is a good choice for a slightly older family or a group of friends marking a special occasion. Inside Vecchio Frantoio, you will be greeted by a pretty pastel colours, terracotta floor tiles and brick archways and a generous sense of space. Bedrooms feature stunning oak floors; the only discussion will be which of your party gets the four-poster. Compensation awaits for the rest of your party in the form of ornate double beds elsewhere. Both buildings have private terraces, meaning you can enjoy some privacy or mingle as you wish. Either way these are places to simply sit back and take in the superb views. The split-level garden is a delightful place and where you will find a luxurious Jacuzzi - as well as a third terrace. The private pool is another show-stopper, dramatically perched on the edge of the property and with views gazing away across the Tuscan hills. Our Thoughts Vecchio Frantoio is bright and beautiful inside and out. A truly tasteful eye has guided its transformation from ruin to high-end villa. The location is particularly appealing, surrounded by vineyards and the olive groves that used to supply the raw material in the villa's previous incarnation. When you wish to stretch your legs beyond its gates, the village of Lecchi in Chianti and the town of Radda in Chianti are close by. Notes Three bedrooms. Three bathrooms, two en-suite. The twin beds can be converted to a double if requested when booking. Twice-weekly maid service is included in the rental. The kitchenette in the cottage has no oven and is only suitable for food preparation. This property is fenced but not pet-secured. There is a gravel path leading from the house to the pool.
