Gardenia Room@Baeay ni Mama Lorna
This is one of the rooms in a 3-bedroom (each room can take 2-3people) extension of an ancestral house with modern amenities which can serve as a base from where to explore the many interesting places around Kalibo, Aklan and the nearby towns & provinces . This is one of the rooms in a 3 bedroom extension of our ancestral home. We built a pavilion with high ceilings and furniture that remind you of the slow and leisurely times of the past. The property has been our family's home for decades. Now that family members no longer reside permanently in the place, we have decided to open our ancestral home to guests to serve as a base from where to explore the many interesting places around Kalibo, Aklan and the nearby towns and provinces of Iloilo ( 3-4 hours away), Capiz (1.5 hours away), and Antique (1 hour away), usually before or after a trip to the more famous Boracay Island. The guests have access to the common, open air lounging and dining areas. This is a large hall with lounging chairs and bamboo sofas. There are dining tables that can seat up to twenty people. I stay in the house about a week in a month and will be available for questions about places to visit and things to do in my hometown. Of course, we respect guest privacy but will be around should guests need help. The house is located in the center of the town, a few meters away from the town plaza. There is a bakeshop across the house with delectable breads and pastries. There are restaurants a block away, banks and the nearest 24 hour convenience store is a mere 5-minute walk away. Tricycles, the main mode of transportation, is always available. The airport is a 15-minute tricycle ride away, and bus/van terminals to anywhere is around 5-10 minutes away. As mentioned, tricycles are always available. Metered taxis are also a favorite means if transportation and we will be happy to arrange this for guests.
