The Researcher’s Refuge

Private room with a Tiny House feel and access to personal kitchen and bathroom. Ideal for a visitor that enjoys both the cultural attractions of the city and the serenity of beautiful nature. The Copenhagen city centre is only 30 minutes away (by S-train or car) - and in terms of nature, you will be located in one of Denmarks most attractive areas, in the midst of woods and lakes - incl. a bathing lake with beach. The Researcher's Refuge comes with the possibility of borrowing Rejsekort/Travel Pass to use at your convenience. This will save you the hassle of buying expensive tickets and provide you with all relevant discounts. You can either top up the card yourself as you travel, or use one with automated top up, and reimburse us at your departure according to the spending on the Travel Pass registered to it. You'll have free access to your personal kitchen space and bathroom in the garden end of the main house. The bathroom is all yours, and so is the kitchen space. However we may enter the kitchen, to get to utilities and washer/dryer from time to time. Also you'll have access to our wonderful garden. Where there is a special private corner dedicated for your personal use. We are at home and around most of the time and you are welcome to approach us anytime. We will be happy to help you. There is a choice of stores for grocery shopping at and around Værløse Bymidte along with a few restaurants and take away shops. There is a direct S-Train line approximately 1 km from the Refuge. It takes around 15-20 min. to walk there depending on the route and your personal speed. The first night comes with a small breakfast included. You will find the ingredients in the Kitchen and refridgerator for you to take to the Researcher's Refuge at your convenience. From the 2nd night it is possible to order from a breakfast menu. A Classic Danish Breakfast for approximately 10 €/75 DKK. A Full English Breakfast for around 12 €/ 90 DKK or a Made-for-you Full Brunch prepared fully for you and served in the Refuge for around 20 €/150 DKK per person. We are also able to provide all Vegan alternatives in all categories. If you want Breakfast from the Menu you must order it before 7 pm the night before.
