The upstairs bedroom has a high ceiling with natural beams creating a truly rustic feel. The bathroom is ensuite. The house overlooks the Vincou river and the 13th century bridge, ensuring spectacular views from both floors. Outside is a private patio area, perfectly suited to al fresco dining, with views of Notre Dam Church and the Vincou river. The property entrance is at the rear, just below the private patio area overlooking the Cafe le Pont de la Pierre. There are views of Notre Dam Church and the Vincou river. Guests will be welcomed either by the owners or our gite manager in Bellac. Owners will always be fully contactable. The property sits on the edge of a park dotted with mature trees and flanked by traditional French properties. This offers opportunities for beautiful walks in the French countryside under the Viaduct and past the old tanneries that produced leather for Louis Vuitton. Bellac is a small town in the Limousin area about 25km north of the city of Limoges and about 50 km from Poitiers making it easy to catch flights in and out of the area. The Cafe du Pont de la Pierre offers great burgers and frites and a plat de jour. In summer it is a focal point for locals and tourists to mingle, (reserving a table is recommended during July & August). Other excellent eating options are available in the town centre at Le Creperie and Le Cheval Blanc which provide excellent local cuisine. There are local boulangeries and small supermakets within walking distance to buy fresh bread & croissants & other every day food items. A short drive to the edge of town brings you to a selection of large supermarkets including Lidl, Carrefour and Intermarche. The town hosts a fresh food market every Saturday selling everything from fresh fish, cheeses and fruit and vegetables. In addition, there is an outdoor swimming pool which is a favourite for children and a small cinema showing the latest movies, some in English. Bellac proudly holds an annual festival with live theatre, music and special events during early July. Bellac is served by a train station which runs between Limoges and Poitiers. You can also rent a car locally at very reasonable rates either from the airports or from the town of Bellac. The historic town of Bellac is located about 25km north of the city of Limoges and the local airport is serviced by Ryainair & Flybe. A regular train service provides travel options to Potiers and Limoges with connections to Paris, La Rochelle & Bordeaux. Bellac has a number of restaurants to choose from, serving local French cuisine. The town boasts its own theatre & cinema & swimming pool. The area would suit a number of interests and is a favourite for cyclists, artists and those interested in history. It could also be used as a base for those seeking a property in this popular area.
