GUESTHOUSE FOR 2 WITH PRIVATE TERRACE AND GARDEN The village of MILHARS is located in SW France (Tarn), 15 minutes from 2 historic villages of Cordes sur Ciel and St Antonin Noble Val. In an old totally renovated convent we created a luxury guesthouse with private entrance, terrace and garden. Private access to the guesthouse on the first floor via an outside staircase to the terrace. Facilities: Living (40m2) with air conditioning, open kitchen with 4 burner gas set, oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, water cooker, dining area, sitting area with 2 luxury sofas, armchair and a flat screen TV, audio set, Wifi. The bedroom has a 2p box spring bed (1.80 x 2.00 m). Modern bathroom with toilet, large walk-in shower, towel dryer, hairdryer. From the guesthouse and terrace and garden you have a beautiful view of the surrounding hills, the village with its church and the chateau, the rock walls. Price includes linen, towels. Check-in and check-out times You can check in from 4 pm on the day of arrival. Check out on the day of departure no later than 11 am. A minimum stay of 3 nights. === Our house is called Le Couvent. It's a beautiful old house, which used to be a small monastery for 6 nuns. You reach your spacious apartment with private entrance and terrace via an outside staircase. You can also use a large part of the the garden. There will be no other guests around. We will welcome you when you check in and will be around in case you have any questions. There are several walks directly from the house and in the vicinity. Supermarket and other shops in St Antonin Noble Val and Cordes sur Ciel (both villages 15 minutes drive) and a small supermarket in Varen (5 minutes drive). Milhars has a restaurant, Le Segalar, and in the very immediate area you will find several restaurants: Le Moulin de Varen in the nearby village of Varen, several restaurants in Cordes sur Ciel and St Antonin Noble Val and of course many restaurants in Albi and Gaillac. Culinary and wine: our guesthouse is located near the Gaillac wine region with its many domaines and chateaux.The famous medieval bastide hilltop town of Cordes sur Ciel, founded in 1222, an amazing tumble of houses in two fortified layers - with its maze of cobbled streets and oak beamed stone houses once voted the preferred village to visit in France in 2014, is only 15 minutes’ drive. The medieval and Roman village of St Antonin - Noble - Val on the river Aveyron is also 15 mins drive, famous for its Sunday market, recognised as one of the best in France – a wonderful feast of French culture and food, it covers almost the entire medieval centre. The beautiful Gaillac wine region named after the authentic town of Gaillac is just around the corner, you can make beautiful rides through the “Albigeois” (the Tuscany like) landscape to the various bastide villages in the countryside with their fairs and celebrations, repas, vide - greniers/ brocantes and famous for their regional products. Don’t miss the beautiful city of Albi with its world famous Cathédrale Sainte Cécile (UNESCO heritage), the Museum Toulouse Lautrec and the old historic center with many shops and restaurants. A visit to the "red" city of Toulouse (the bricks that were used for construction in Toulouse are red-colored, called “briques Toulousaines”) is very worthwhile; beautifully situated on the Garonne, many beautiful squares, churches, museums, restaurants and lively student neighborhoods. There are universities, a conservatory and an art academy. Nature lovers can indulge themselves. The protected natural area “Forêt de Grésigne” and the rugged Gorges de l’Aveyron (famous for canoeing) are within easy reach. You can take a swim in the Aveyron; there are several "beaches", some with bar and/or restaurant. There are many beautiful walking routes directly from our house as well as in the nearby area. Experienced cyclists who bring their own bicycle can also try out their own "tour de France". Do you like to play golf? Albi has a very beautiful 18-hole golf course and there are also several golf courses in the Toulouse area. Parking place at the house. There is a bus going to Cordes sur Ciel, St Antonin, Gaillac, Albi and the Vindrac/Cordes train station with connection to Toulouse. New! We just opened up in may 2020.
