Old Tavern House

There was a tavern in the house witch inspired the name, the tavern was the oldest tavern in the village and it stayed open until the 60's. It was bought in 2006 and totally renewed. The tavern was preserved in memory of its old activity. In the quiet village and the comfort of the house it invites you to get together with family and friends to enjoy the peace and quite of the Portuguese country side, or to write a book or simply take a break of the busy life we take in our day to day life. The Old Tavern House is a century old house made of stone that was taken from the leftovers of the castle. Although it was renewed in almost all of the divisons there is a wall with the old stones showing. In this house you will find a great place to rest, to think, or just to discover the history of an old village and its surrondings. You will have access to top floor made of a living room with a built in kitchen and a garden and a Library room. The bedrooms have independent bathrooms and there are two available. There will be a host available to help you during your stay. It´s possible to organise Portuguese traditional meals, wine tastes, olive oil tastes, Portuguese cooking lessons, bread making, Portuguese sweet deserts. The House is located in the center of an old Portuguese village witch developed it self around the castle that was part of the line of defense witch protected the city of Coimbra. The castle was place of many historic events of Portuguese history namely the order to execute Ines de Castro witch is one of the biggest love story's in Portuguese culture . There is a Bus stop that takes you to or from Figueira da Foz or Coimbra 50m away from the House There is a train station 3 km away from the Village, station of Montemor-o-Velho in witch the regional trains stop. There is also a train station 6 km in witch the intercity trains stop, the station of alfarelos Although the cancellation of reservations is rigid, there is availability to analyse case by case and seek consensus solutions. The village is located in the center of Portugal its 25 km away from Coimbra witch has the oldest university's in the country, a city with a lot of historical places to visit. its 15 km away from Figueira da Foz a coastal city with beaches and Casino with shows. 25 km away from the ruins of Conimbriga a historical place to visit.
