Comfortable, relaxed home w/ private parking

This is a well designed light airy comfortable home. Well positioned on the outskirts of Totnes, but still walking distance from the delights of the vibrant and historic town of Totnes. Dartington also walkable, with a lovely short walk through the woods to The Cott Inn, cored Britain’s best pub 2019. The Dartington Hall and Sharpham estates sit either side of Totnes within 2 miles. Dartmoor National Park, numerous beautiful local beaches and picturesque villages are all close by. Our home is a wonderfully light and airy space with doubles glazed windows throughout. Beautifully decorated, with care and attention to detail. It’s easy to live in.... There are two bedrooms with king size beds and single two bedrooms, one with a bunk bed and the other with a single bed. The master bedroom on the first floor has french doors to a private balcony which runs the entire width of the house, giving you pretty views. It’s perfect for morning coffee, or to hear the dawn chorus. The two single bedrooms are on the same floor. The attic room (my sons room) has another kingsize bed and had ladder style steps. Downstairs is an open plan living space with two large very comfy sofas, a dining area kitchen, larder/utility area and downstairs loo. there is also a well placed small office area. French doors open onto a lovely mature garden, with a glass covered deck perfect for eating on warm days or even if it rains as it’s covered. The deck also has an outdoor shower to wash off after a day on beach or river . There is a fire pit for cosy summer evenings and a swing for kids. The front of the house is set well off the road and has parking for 3-4 cars. (Please note that the drive is shared with neighbours who have their own parking area.) Please also note the two old and friendly cats names Zorro and Belle live at the property. They are very low key and self sufficient. Please note that if you were to rent the house we’d be grateful if you kept their dry food and water topped up as they will stay on the property during your stay. If tipping up food is not convenient, I am happy to arrange for someone to do this. (We don’t allow them upstairs.) We hope you love our home as much as we do. We look forward to welcoming you. You can walk the 3/4 mile to the town centre or drive and park within 3 mins. There is a wealth of restaurants, markets and organic food shops and boutiques to peruse including The Cott Inn ( our local) voted best pub in Britain 2019, and The Riverford field Kitchen less than two miles away. Dartington Hall is 1 mile away, with a wonderful summer timetable of culture, entertainment, gardens, food and shops. Access to A38 is only 10 mins away. There are numerous beautiful beaches to enjoy and stunning Dartmoor National Park is 20 mins away. Car is best in Devon so that you can explore the surrounding countryside. Totnes town has good travel links with a main trainline. There are also regular buses to the surrounding area from the centre of Totnes. There is parking with the house for 3 cars. As this is a home, we do have two cats. They come with the house,and we think they are a great addition, but we appreciate a cat is not everyone’s cup of tea. They love a cuddle! Pls note that we would be grateful if their food and water was kept topped up during your stay, or if you’d rather not do that then our neighbours are happy to help.
