Set on 1 acre with 180 degree views of the paddy fields, The Paddy House is the ideal place to indulge in life’s pleasures. Breakfast is served on the terrace as peacocks wander through the rice fields. Monkeys often visit in the afternoon and entertain with their playful antics. A 7m x 9m private infinity pool adds to the luxury and ambience of the space, with sun beds to enjoy the Sri Lankan rays. The Villa is staffed by Shantha, our Watchman with amazing Sri Lankan culinary skills who will prepare your breakfast and will also be happy to prepare other meals at additional cost - and Tharaka who has excellent English skills and has lived in the area all his life. He is an experienced surf instructor and previously worked in the tourism sector. Both will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and help where ever possible. Guests staying at the property have access to the luxury of 3 beautifully designed bedrooms, 1 indoor bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, mirror and a storage cabinet as well as an outdoor alfresco bathroom with a large bath (with a shower), toilet, 2 sinks and large mirror as well as waterfall center piece. The open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area allows guests to either cater for themselves, order meals at the villa or eat out. Guests may also enjoy the beautiful scenery on the comfortable lounge chairs on the patio as well as a large private pool. Full time caretakers with their own separate staff quarters, are available for housecleaning and meal preparation. Transportation and other services can be arranged along with guidance, tours and activities around Sri Lanka Interactions and communication with guests are via email. Problems, questions, special requests, etc... should be directed at the watchman for the property or may be emailed to the hosts for further clarification. The neighborhood is a very peaceful area surrounded by breathtaking scenery, flora and fauna. The house is very private, with neighboring homes at a distance and obscured by the surrounding trees and vegetation. On the walk to the beach you will be delighted by the friendly local residents and children greeting you. Public transportation can be accessed on the main road which can be reached by walking the 1km village road. Buses come often and travel all over Sri Lanka. Galle is a 30 minute bus ride away costing about 40c. The bus ride in itself is a local experience not to be missed. A tuk tuk (the local transportation in Sri lanka) can be arranged to pick up and drop off from the villa. A number of trusted tuk tuk drivers will be listed in the guest handbook. Tour buses, vans and private cars with drivers can also be arranged for longer day trips if required. The house is strictly non- smoking inside. The swimming pool is not fenced.
