Overlooking Kennebec River, Riverside is a perfect setting to relax or get away. Open 365 days per year, we are 2BR, 1 BA, full kitchen, and common area. Site situates 6 comfortably, 8 with use of floor mattresses. Newly renovated, open concept, our home is wheelchair accessible with a wide range of amenities for disabled. Leave your worries at home and let us take care of your needs. We accept Service dogs and will consider family dogs and other pets on a case-by-case basis; please ask. You'll find our accommodation professionally cleaned. Linens, towels, coverlets, throws, toiletries, dishes, glasses, cookware and utensils all provided. Coffee maker, toaster, Foreman Grill, and bake-mixer set all available. Enjoy a glass of wine on the elevated wharf and watch eagles, osprey, sturgeon and stripers on the river. We provide a propane grill and a fire pit for gatherings. High speed WiFi and satellite TV is free and available throughout the facility, but is sometimes spotty. Guests may wish to contact their carriers and purchase a low cost "hot spot" to avoid outages. For disabled folks, we have a zero threshold shower, shower chair, sit-to-stand Sara-lift and broad expertise assisting disabled folks (if needed). For those with toddlers, we have a high-chair and pack and play on-site. For boating enthusiasts, bird watchers and fishermen, we have single kayaks, a canoe and a paddleboard with safety items and accessories for use on site with a total cost of $50/day for use of everything. Riverside is yours. . . guests can access and fully use the grounds, wharf, floats, parking spaces, firepit, river. The pool is off limits to guests due to insurance liability (didn't want to, but had to). Guests are reminded that the use of wharf, water and steep grounds come with inherent risks. Children must be escorted and/or monitored at all times. We are right next door and will be available with advanced notice. I will issue keys to Riverside upon arrival and collect due costs at that time (see Other Things to Note below). If you forgot something or need anything, let us know and we will try to accommodate you. We are directly on the Kennebec River, 1 mile from Gardiner Township, 7 miles from Augusta, and less than 50 minutes to historic Wiscasset, Freeport, Brunswick and Bath. The Owner's main residence is right next door to the ABnB. We are about an hour to some of Maine's most prestigious universities/colleges to include U. Maine, Bowdoin, Colby and Bates. We are about 2.5 hours from Acadia National Park and seashore by auto. The Depot, a local pub and restaurant, is about a mile from us and guaranteed to carry your favorite grog and sports game. We have a complete guide at the BnB, sure to point you in the right direction to everything from places to visit to outdoor activities, food and drink. The Kennebec Rail-Trail, capable of foot, bike and roller-blade traffic is less than a mile from our place. The best place for elevated hiking is Bradbury State Park, about 30 minutes south near Pownal/Freeport, or Mount Battie, in Camden, just over an hour to the east . AMTRAK and bus services to Boston and Portland are about 40 minutes south of us in Brunswick. Augusta airport, located nearby, has flights to Portland, Bangor and Mount Desert Isle, which is home to historic Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and seashore. Due to liability, the pool is off limits to guests. There is a $50 charge per night per adult when numbers exceed 4 adults remaining overnight. There is no additional charge for children 18 years or younger when exceeding 4 adults. If we approve pets joining you at the ABnB, there is a non-refundable $25 flat fee for pets accompanying your stay. These charges will be collected at check-in. USD only, please.
