Suits 1 or 2 couples. Lwr level only (fully self -cont) 1/2 house. 35 mtrs to Hordern beach or 50 sec walk. Nearby bush & coastal walks, bird or whale watching (May-Sept), swimming, fishing, hire a kayak or SUP. 500 mtrs to Cronulla/Bundeena Ferry (25 mins each way), arts and crafts. Relax on the beach or outside with a drink and & listen to the sound of breaking waves. Visiting King Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets and Kookaburras. House is surrounded by trees and is difficult to see from the road. Perfect for a couple or 2 couples who love the beach or bush or coastal walks or just want to relax and unwind. Walk through the camping grounds (1.5km) to the basin to swim or snorkel or just paddle a craft or check out or photograph the birdlife, over 330 different species throughout the Royal National Park (more than Kakadu). At least 45 -50 different kinds at Bonnie Vale and the Basin. Wifi available if required. TV, DVD. Only 500 metres to local bowling club or 700 metres to new C.S.C (Community Services Club, with stunning water views of Port Jackson) for meals or a drink. Local shops (500 metres) include an I.G.A. and 5 cafes for that caffeine hit and Charlie's Gelato Factory. Hire kayaks or paddle boards locally at Bonnie Vale picnic grounds (1 km walk) or at Audley (20 mins drive). Host lives in the separate, fully self contained upper level (with private, separate entrance) and if required will drive bush walkers or coastal walkers to a designated drop off point. For example will drop off at Wattamolla for the 10 km (3 hr) walk back to Bundeena. Please let host know if you would like to be dropped off at Wattamolla. Quiet neighbourhood, birdlife is abundant. Kookaburras, magpies, King Parrots, Lorikeets and Tawny Frogmouths. Walk 1 km to 1.5 km to the Basin and see Spoonbills, Egrets, Comorants, Variegated Fairy Wrens, Wood ducks, Chestnut Teal ducks, Masked Lapwings herons both white headed and rufous night, , Olive-backed Orioles, Channel-billed Cuckoos (from P.N.G) and others. Best way to get around for fit people is walking or bicycle riding. The first weekday ferry leaves at 6 am and each hour thereafter. There is no ferry weekdays at 1pm. Last Ferry leaves at 7pm. Ferries from Cronulla leave on the half hour. First weekend ferry is 9am. Buses leave from Bundeena Wharf Wed and Fri to go into Miranda or Engadine shopping centres. A National park permit is not required to park on Bundeena and Maianbar streets. Parking in Bonnie Vale or outside of Bundeena and Maianbar will cost $12 a day unless a 6 or 12 month permit is purchased. Vehicular access into the park is available via Princes Highway or from Waterfall. Mobile phone coverage whilst hiking can be unreliable in an emergency dial 112. Lower level self-contained apartment available only, consists of 2 double bedrooms, (one with ensuite), kitchenette, main bathroom with front loading washing machine, dining and living area, and generous al fresco area for dining or relaxing. On Street parking only. Please ensure you park facing the direction of travel as rangers are known to patrol in peak season. House is fitted with insect screens on doors and windows and if the doors or windows are open the screens need to be in operation. Price is according to house divided into 2 separate apartments, location, proximity of beach, size and standard of accomodation yet well below recommended market value. Old, unrenovated, fibro houses on the beach are $310 upwards per night. Similar accomodation connected to the main house is $220 per night for 2 people but without a kitchen. Bundeena Hideaway is the third house back from Hordens beach in a perfect location for privacy.
