Villa Naturelle is one of our special accomodations : this is a house with heart. On top of that, it is located in a great area from where visits of national heritage as well as sea front are easily possible. On stage, the jaccuzi keeps you zen. Not that far from England and already south of France : the Poitou Charente is ideally situated. The small jolly town of St Genis de Saintonge is in a central area and offers good selection of shops and a few restaurants. From there, it is easy to reach Cognac, where the scenery changes from fields of maize and sunflowers to neat rows of vines, stretching as far as the eye can see. There the narrow streets are a mix of narrow medieval timber framed houses and the grander mansions of the wealthy merchants. Down by the river the blackened chais still store barrels of cognac that has been made here for the past 300 years. Further north, the town of Saintes also deserves a visit with its Roman Amphitheatre, just outside the centre, which is one of the oldest and largest in existence in France; it could hold up to 15000 people. On your west side, Royan on the coast can claim to be one of the best Atlantic beach and holiday resorts in France. It has a warm and sunny climate, tourist attractions, a lovely natural location and best of all some wonderful sandy beaches. One recommended route is Le chemin des douaniers longing sandy beaches and secluded bays as well as Belle Époque mansions. Along the Cote Sauvage, the beaches are backed by cycle paths and it is also possible to go horse-riding. Along the estuary, some delightful villages give the enjoyable holiday atmosphere with cafés terraces and milky ice creams breaks facing the water. The closest beaches to the house are only 30 minute drive and very easily accessible even in summer. The house itself sets in a tiny hamlet where is another house rented through Affair Travel. It offers accommodation for up to 7 people. Downstairs, the building is made of a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, normal oven and micro wave as well as direct access to terrace, and a main room made of exposed stone walls and opened through a mezzanine up to the glazed roof. It gives confortable dining area around a wooded table as well as confortable seating in front of satellite sky TV, with wifi access, DVD player and direct door to terrace. Separate wc as well as washing machine are also available. Upstairs you come to a charming area lighted from the roof and with view towards the main downstairs room. It leads to a very original bathroom with basin and foldaway bath plus a separate wc. Going in circle around the mezzanine you enter from the landing via a second door through a great double bedroom with an extra high level single bed for a small child, then a second door leads to the opposite side of the landing. The third door opens onto a twin bedroom. From that bedroom, a door comes to a double room and its ensuite shower room which you can also reach via the staircase coming from the kitchen. Outside, the garden is mainly made of three different terraces : two where you can have lunch, diner or playing area for kids and a third one where has been installed a 6 seats outside heated jacuzzi and its deck terrace. The proprerty has its own parking spaces and you can benefit from all the nearby countryside to play and walk around. The house has heating for out of season stays.
