Literally on the edge of Bath. The perfect location from which to enjoy Bath at Christmas... at 2.2 miles from Bath centre but a world away in the heart of the rolling hills with the most breath taking views and sun sets Sleeping 8 comfortably in four doubles - we also have a sofa bed in a communal area that can take a couple of kids .. HOT TUB is in the secret garden : super cosy on chilly evenings and for morning cuppas as you watch the day break over the valley ABOUT THIS SPACE : This is a country gem, for families or small groups, right on the edge of Bath (just 2.3 miles to the centre). COTTAGE: The cottage has its own entrance leading into a large modern fitted kitchen with all the mod cons, underfloor heating and a cottage style dining area for 8. The kitchen leads onto a large sitting room with private home bar. This bar is a huge hit for both kiddies and adults and a great way to enjoy a sundowner. At your request, we can stock up the bar in advance with cocktails and mocktails at cost price. The sitting room has a large wood burner and a large TV for those that want it (although it’s on the back wall so it can be easily ignored!) Again there are views of the beautiful rolling hills with doors leading on to an outdoor patio and a small walled garden with seating for tea or drinkies. BEDROOMS There are four bedrooms in total, with one sofa bed in a communal area for kiddies : so can fit 8 comfortably and 2 extra kiddies at a push Bedroom ONE 1 x Super king with en-suite bathroom (bath/ shower/ toilet/ sink) and balcony onto the view Bedroom TWO 1 x super king with a shared bathroom (bath/ toilet/ sink) looking onto the view Bedroom THREE 1 x small double overlooking the view, with shared bathroom with bedroom 1 or bedroom one Bedroom FOUR 1 x super king downstairs off the main entrance with shared bathroom with bedroom two DOUBLE SOFA BED This is in the dressing room area and is a walk through space for bedrooms 1 and 3 All bedrooms are super cosy. There are two main bathrooms (one ensuite in bedroom one/ and one with bath/ shower in bath and sink/ toilet. There is a separate toilet downstairs. GARDEN AND OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING SPACES: There is beautiful patio overlooking the rolling hills. And the sun goes down right in front of you. There is a separate secret garden with a hot tub overlooking the view. CREATURE COMFORTS: WIFI: New fast and efficient WIFI has recently been installed in the cottage and the coverage is good throughout the whole property. HEATING: There is underfloor heating in the kitchen and throughout the cottage. A very powerful wood burner is in the sitting room. We will supply wood at cost price - we use a local wholesaler and buy in trailer loads so it’s very good value. CATERING & CLEANING: We can organise catering and cleaners to come in during your stay. Just let us know and we will put you in direct contact with companies that we highly recommend. WASHING: Washing machine and family dishwasher. BEDDING: All bedrooms come with the very best cosy bedding (White company, Soak & Sleep and Graham & Green). Bathrooms are thoughtfully kitted out with the sweetest smelling products. PARKING: There is parking for up to 8 cars. CHILDREN & PETS: Children and animals are welcome! The cottage is super child friendly and the whole garden is gated from the road and fully fenced. You have your own entrance and driveway which can fit many cars. You are completely private. we are in the house behind and can help with anything including great tips or beautiful walks and pubs/ restaurants etc you can walk directly from the cottage ... We live in the house behind, far enough away for you to be as noisy or as quiet as you like ... but also on hand for any help you may need .. We will give you loads of recommendations for shopping, Bath restaurants and nightlife, countryside pubs, decadent hotels for cocktails .. farmers markets for your food/ vintage markets for local food and antiques Bath and its surrounds had so much to offer .. aside from being world renowned as Bath City, with fantastic shopping and ancient sites. There are also some wonderful local towns like Frome (Sunday market on the 1st Sunday of every month), Bruton (famous Art Gallery), beautiful gardens at Iford Manor, wonderful pubs ten mins by car or 1 to 1/2 hours by foot, and a delicious cocktail bar/ restaurant at the Pig (15 mins by car). We are also close to Bristol (you can even bike there on the canal path near the house), Dryham park, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Longleat, Center Parcs, Bradford on Avon, Castle Combe, Stourhead and many more to discover. For the more active you there are endless footpaths and bridleways (from your doorstep!), and activities like cycling (this area is renowned for its cycling on roads and on the canal and old railway paths, kayaking on the river, paddle boarding & wild swimming in some of the best spots in the UK. And the best part, after you have filled your days and evenings - you get to wake up to peace and beauty and our almost tame wild deer. Bath is very easy to navigate on foot .. but also some good large car parks by the city centre if you want to take your car ... If you come by train, jump in a taxi and we are ten minutes max form the station. Uber are very active in Bath for going out in the evenings. Quite fun new addition to Bath are electric scooters that you can literally pick up on the street and whizz around on.
