THE FLAT AT TORRINGTON Breezy, tastefully designed and flanked with wide balconies, this one-of-a-kind apartment has the air of a secret boutique tree-house, nestled in the heart of authentic Sri Lankan life in a characterful 1950s building complex in the heart of Colombo. With extensive wide balconies on both sides, the space is uncommonly breezy, leafy and natural especially given its super convenient central location. The apartment is on the top floor of an old 1950s building. Please note that it is on the fourth floor and the old building has no elevator. The space is furnished with a combination of antique furniture and custom made pieces designed specifically to suit the space. It has recently been lovingly renovated to maximise the spacious, airy layout that is rarely allowed for in modern apartment building design in Colombo. The apartment has been designed with every modern comfort – every room but the kitchen and bathrooms has AC. The master bathroom has a rain shower and his and her basins, and there is instant hot water throughout the apartment. In the large, living / dining room there is a 55” television with satellite TV as well as an extensive selection of pre-loaded movies and TV shows. There is a mini-library with a selection of books and a dedicated office space. Free wifi, complimentary mineral water, quality tea and coffee (with espresso machine and French press), and complimentary toiletries are provided. Quality linens and towels are provided and can be changed during longer stays upon request. Ample hanging and drawer space for guests’ clothes is provided. There are two bedrooms, with a king size bed in the master bedroom and a queen size bed in the second bedroom/office. If needed there is also a sofa-bed in the living room. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well stocked with a decent selection of necessary cooking tools, utensils etc. Also, feel free to cook with any of the dry goods you find in the pantry cupboard. There is no elevator so guests must walk up to the fourth floor. We have an unobtrusive style of hosting - we will do everything we can to make your stay comfortable and you will be able to reach us 24/7 with any questions/ concerns. You will have the place completely to yourself with your own set of keys- nobody will be in your way unless you request it! We are always more than happy to provide any help or advice that we can about Colombo / Sri Lanka etc. Torrington Flats is an authentic, safe, residential Sri Lankan community. Our neighbours are mostly families and young professionals. The buildings of Torrington Flats are arranged around a large circular grassy playing field. It's a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. It is hard to find a more convenient location for all that Colombo has to offer. The apartment is right on the border between the trendy Colombo 5 district and the upmarket Colombo 7 district, both replete with bars, cafés and restaurants. The restaurants, café’s and shops of the Thimbirigasyaya area are a walk away, and the Arcade Independence Centre (shops/restaurants/luxury cinema) is a few minutes away at the other end of Torrington Avenue. Colombo 3, 4, Galle Road, the sea are all under 10 minutes drive/tuk-tuk away.
