In walking distance to shops and public transport (30-50 mins to city centre) our house looks out onto quiet bushland. Sit on the deck watching parrots and other native birds, or go hiking in the near-by Mt Coot-tha forests. All in a big city! The bedroom has a double bed, desk, wardrobe and bedside table with lamp. We have another room with queen bed and private en-suite bathroom (same name but No.2) so ask us if you’d prefer this space. You'll share the downstairs bathroom with one or two others. It's right next to your room. We'll provide a simple breakfast - toast, cereals, tea and coffee - and you are welcome to make yourself tea and coffee at any time. For dinner, you can use the kitchen, we just ask you to leave it clean. Or there are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. You can use the washing machine (free) and dryer ($5). Feel welcome to share the living room, dining room, deck, pool and garden. We clean the bedroom once a week and we clean the bathroom daily, and provide fresh linen and towels weekly. We'll help you with bus and train timetables, and advice about things to do in Brisbane . We love to talk with guests, but understand sometimes people just want to rest or be quiet. This is a quiet residential area. It's 10 minutes walk to the shops and bus, and about 15 minutes walk to the edge of the Mt Coot-tha forests. The house backs onto a patch of bush, so it's pretty quiet most of the time. There is parking in the street or, if you prefer, in our driveway (no covered parking, sorry). A bus to the city comes every 15 minutes to a bus-stop about 15 minutes' walk from the house. A bus that comes once an hour is about 5 minutes' walk. There is a shopping center with supermarket, food shops, post office, banks and a library about 10 minutes' walk. We're about 10 minutes from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary by bus. We have a dog and a cat - so some pet hair is unavoidable and this is not a good place if you've got allergies. On the other hand, if you love to cuddle a dog, this is the place for you! Access to the house is down a steep driveway or steps, so please take care if you have mobility issues.
