Mum's Lodge- Bascarsija 20 mns walk

Located in uphill Sarajevo, Mum's lodge offers a refuge from the busy city, yet only about 20 minutes leisurely walk away through scenic neighbourhoods of Sarajevo's Old Town. Mum's Lodge is suitable for single travelers as well as a group of friends who would like to enjoy some peace and quiet after a day of exploring Sarajevo. Suitable for couples who would enjoy intimacy and tranquility and some private cosy time. Perfect for enjoying a relaxing cup of coffee or tea in the afternoon sun at the outside garden patio. Perhaps even a chilled glass of wine after all days adventures in the city. Please feel free to use the city guides and city maps laid out. You will have the garden flat available to your perusal with a separate seating area, which can make for extra sleeping space. A fully equipped bathroom with a shower and toiletries provided as well as slippers and bathrobes. A hairdryer, a washing machine with washing powder and an iron/ ironing desk. Travel adapters, real desk-working space and a washing line outside for all things natural! The kitchen is equipped with all necessities for preparing a meal and we will be happy to provide anything you may need additionally. You are welcome to enjoy the outside seating area overlooking our veggie garden and blossoming flowers. Smoking is only permitted outside, smokers may use the garden area for smoking. This area is not affected by the city wide water reductions and we have running water 24/7. You shall be greeted with a bottle of our local, home made Rakija and few freshly cut roses from our garden, season permitting. I as your host will be available 24/7 on Airbnb and my regular Bosnian phone number and on all other social media for any questions and queries you may have. There is always someone at our home, so help is always available in person as well. We speak German, English and Sign language! A trustworthy and well known driver with his own car is available upon request and against a fee they set separately from your Airbnb booking fee. Please let me know should you have any such requirements, whether it is a pick up from your port of arrival, a city tour or an excursion to the nearby mountains, a drive to the coast or indeed further to any of the neighbouring countries. A minibus operates from Park, close to BBI, and cost less than €1. Taxis should never charge more than €2.50 for a ride uphill from the City Centre. Reliable taxi companies’ numbers will be provided and I am happy to organize this on your behalf. I would always suggest walking down hill as I believe this is the best way to get to know Sarajevo and our hidden gems in the little, secluded streets! I will also let you know the best running routes for your workout, as I am a keen runner myself as well as some good hiking spots not too far from our home, where you can get away from the busy city enjoying greenery, fresh air, tranquility and old Bosnian villages. Our home is located on one of the leafy up hill neighbourhoods, about 20 minutes leisurely walk through the picturesque streets of Sarajevo down to the City Centre and the Old Town. Taxis will drive from there to our uphill area for around €2.50. Our part of town is well know as an Air Spa, in other words clean air and constant running water! I am an eager Aibnb traveller myself, thus know exactly what kind of service I would like to offer my guests, namely the same high service I expect to receive. In return all we expect is for you to treat our home as you treat your own. And if you would be so kind to bring a simple fridge magnet from your home town with you or even only a postcard with a few kind words for keepsake! Our home is in a lively but very safe area and anything is easily accessible in Sarajevo, so you need not worry about getting to the airport in 20 minutes or up to the Olympic mountains in 45 minutes, or indeed down to the southern part of the country in about 3 hours drive. I am more than happy to suggest any hot spots for your daily walk, coffee, eating and drinking and partying spots. Secluded restaurants only known to us locals! One of the best known Bosnian cuisine restaurants, Kibe, as well as the best viewing spot over Sarajevo with a large Coffee and Shisha Garden are within minutes of our home. Our picturesque neighbourhood also offers a nearby bakery for your fresh pastries and a well-stocked supermarket with a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables open from 7am to 9pm every day.
