The guest suite in my house has a private entrance, king bed and a private bathroom with shower. It is ideal for short stays to explore wineries and other attractions. The kitchen and a grill on the deck are shared allowing guests to prepare simple meals. The deck overlooking the lake has a picnic table, coffee table and chairs. The Garrett Memorial Chapel is just a mile away. Dock and Beach are just a one-minute walk down the hill. A local occupancy tax of 4% is included in the price you pay. The house was originally an "A" Frame that has been extended on three sides to create a larger kitchen, living room and the Master Suite (rental space). The Suite has an outdoor entrance and also connects to the living room. The host has a separate bedroom and bath at the back end of the house. I share use of the kitchen, deck, grill and beach space with guests. A hiking trail is also available for guest use. I am generally around during the summer but travel on occasion and manage remote access, as necessary, through a combination door lock. Guests who wish to use the hiking trail should see me for access and directions. The property includes 100 feet of lakefront, located less than a mile from the end of Bluff Point. There is minimal traffic and a relaxed atmosphere, particularly during the week, throughout the summer. The fall months have great color on the hillside and an opportunity to do some wine tasting during the harvest at several vineyards in the area. Kayak along the shore or take walks along the road or up in the woods. Parking is available in the driveway with unimpeded access. The Bluff is generally quiet and a bit secluded. Guests can walk or drive to the Garrett Chapel or visit more than a dozen wineries or craft breweries within a 20-minute drive. In addition to the numerous wineries, the area from Penn Yan to Hammondsport has numerous seasonal restaurants, a great diner, two excellent shops for ice cream, and a great fried chicken restaurant. Hammondsport is a great town with restaurants, shops and a museum dedicated to early aviation and motorcycling that dates back to the early 1900s. A canoe and kayak (the yellow one) are available for use by guests who are experienced with these crafts. Life preservers are required and provided. I also have a couple of bicycles and a fabulous place to go cycling.
