Courtyard Cottage @ Threave Farm

Courtyard cottage is a newly renovated one bedroom self catering property situated between Kirkmichael and Crosshill. Close to the walking village of Straiton and near to the dark sky park, we also have the ‘Ayrshire Alps’ on our doorstep for cyclists. We are less than a five minute drive from Dalduff wedding venue. Turnberry golf course is 15 minutes drive away and Royal Troon approximately 30 minutes away. There are many beautiful beaches and Culzean castle all within a short drive. The Cottage lies within the courtyard of Threave Farmhouse. We offer secure parking for bicycles and motorbikes. Guests are welcome to use the courtyard for sitting or eating outside. Due to the age of the building the doors are quite low and our kitchen has a sloping ceiling so our tall guests will have to duck! Presently there is no TV or internet service in the cottage. There is however a good 4G service locally. We are usually around for guests. If you require anything provided on arrival or during your stay just ask 😊 Threave Farm is situated on a very peaceful country lane amongst a hamlet of four properties. It is possible to walk to both local villages. Kirkmichael has a well run pub serving great beer and food, also a community run cafe. Crosshill has a local store and post office. Car is the best way to get around the area but the local towns of Maybole and Ayr have a good train link to Glasgow via Prestwick airport and Troon. There is also a local (although infrequent) bus service covering Crosshill. We have chickens at the farm which roam freely along with two cats and from time to time we bring our horses and pet sheep up to the yard from the fields.
