Tick Tock Cottage on the edge of Baslow village is about four miles east of Bakewell, considered to be the centre of the Peak District National Park. Here at Tick Tock Cottage you enjoy the very best of the scenery located walking distance to Chatsworth House and estate, gritstone crags and moorlands Open plan ground floor comprising stainless steel kitchen, dining and lounge areas. Kitchen is well equipped, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, fridge, coffee maker, steamer etc... Utility room with washer, tumble dryer, toilet and basin. Under stairs cupboard with household utensils for cleaning and ironing. Two bedrooms. Each can be made up to have either a super king bed or two singles. Bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, toilet and wash hand basin. The flagged garden area outside the cottage has table, chairs and barbecue for use by guests. The car park on the drive will accommodate three cars parked well. We ask guests to park in this designated space. We usually park up the drive and cope with reversing down past stone walls and turning. The upper lawn and garden are often available for guests but we sometimes need to do gardening work or access garden buildings. The man cave and Sue's she shed are not available to guests. Our home is opposite the cottage. The doorbell will summon us from the front of our property to deal with any problem, provide information or assist in emergency. Otherwise you will rarely see us as we respect your privacy and generally sensitive to your needs. I’ve lived close by for over 50 years so know the area well Great walks straight out of the door. Chatsworth House is a 30 min level walk across the estate parkland with its deer herds and river. The gritstone edges are about a mile up the lane from the cottage. River Derwent walks along the valley. Cafes and pubs to sustain you along the way. The Monsal Trail and Hassop Station is 10 mins drive. (Hidden by Airbnb) it. Enjoy level cycling with zero traffic so safe for young children. Bike hire at Hassop Station. Bakewell market town is 10 minutes drive. Stall market on every Monday. The wifi in the cottage is super high speed broadband and doesn't need a password to log on. Central heating is gas fired. All linen and towels provided. Note that guests love the comfortable beds which can be superkings or singles. Cyclists can store their bikes in the garage.
